I was just at IOA in August. If Universal does Harry like the did Jurassic Park river ride, it will be disappointing and in disrepair within a year or two. I saw very visible "skin" off the dinos, revealing metal and innards, faded paint, faulty effects, and a generally poor execution of what was a great but missed opportunity.

Amazing. I can remember going on it when the park opened. I was simply amazed by the T-Rex at the end. But to believe they would let the dinousaurs deteriorate to such an extent is sad. I understand wethering but the Jungle Cruise doesn't look as bad.

Another example of the Disney Difference.

But Harry Potter has lasted ten years, and is a multimillion dollar franchise. J.K Rowling is very protective of her characters. They would have to do a very nice job in order to keep fans going.

The fandom has been best described as a combination of Star Wars & Narnia. Alot of us love reading, but we don't take canon too seriously and it's more a fun hobby than an obsession.

While I would absolutely love to see IJA at WDW, it would never be enough to counter Harry Potter.

Really, I don't think that there could be a counter-answer to Potter. People ARE going to go, I don't think Disney could pull anything out of their hat to stop that. Hopefully Universal does a great job.

Besides cost I can't understand why they haven't built this ride at WDW and don't give me that Dinosaur same layout crap because that is bogus. There seems to be alot of Disney fans underestimating the popularity of Harry Potter. While Universal will not be beating WDW anytime soon on attendance if Harry Potter bumps there attendance 30-40 % it will be a huge success and even more so if IOA's attendance surpasses DHS or DAK.

Indiana Jones Adventure in WDW, would help WDW tremendously. After going to Disneyland, a Disney park isn't a Disney park unless there is an Indiana Jones Adventure.

So every Disney park should have an IJA?

I think each park has unique characteristics. I'd love to see IJA here, but Disneyland needs things that aren't in other parks. We now have Soarin, we have Star Tours, we have Buzz, etc. So those are things I don't even bother with in CA. I don't want to have every great thing that Disneyland has, then there would be no reason to visit there.

Well, Indy has become one of the quinessential (sp) Disney experiences for me, along with the Haunted Mansion, POTC, and BTM, and all the Disney parks (sans Hong Kong) have one of those. The parks should be unique, but Disneyland will always be unique because it is the "original." It would be best for WDW to get a slightly different IJA, similar to what they did for TDS's IJA.

I think there are two discinct 'camps' on this topic.

1 group believes that HP is a direct assult on Disney and Disney must do everything they can to counter act it, or else the masses will leave, leaving disney in ruins.

2nd group believes that HP will be a great asset to the area, and that it will just bring more people to Orlando, and overal improve the normal visitor experience to this town, bringing more people to Universal and Disney.

Now I might have over exagerated Group 1, but... ok I did.

I am in group 2. I don't think Disney needs to counter act it. I am glad that they are beefing up their attraction line up!

I think all around it is going to be a net benefit for anyone visiting orlando... now if we could only get a light rail system connecting all of the resort areas....

Yeah, you exaggerated.

But Universal needed this to help keep up with Disney, which has been trying it's hardest to keep guest on property for their length of stay.

I don't read/watch HP, but I'm going to visit the attraction. I hope it's really cool! They aren't going to take away all of Disney's business, it's just too big. And Disney can't do anything to undo HP. Maybe guests will stay an extra day or two in Orlando to enjoy everything.

I don't think Disney would allow light rail to Universal, though! Maybe from the airport, though - that would be something nice. I'd love to see it all over the area.

I would like to see a light rail system, that has 'hubs' persay. I personally think we need an elevated train on I-Drive that way it takes all of the tourists off the streets!

It would be nice if maybe there was a Hub on I-Drive, then i branched off to the Airport, Disney, SeaWorld, Universal and Downtown.

It would help creat an actualy layout and plan to our city.

Or they could just do what the voters wanted the first time around and build the rail system from Tampa to Orlando. :P

Last summer I was in Epcot and a member of my family was randomly surveyed and then taken to a preview of a new theme park. If you do not find my information credible, I do not care. 10 people were presented the idea of a new them park for WDW by WDI. They were presented in the WOL Pavilion where MetLife had their old offices.

They had cameras and voice recorders in the room to record the feedback of the 10 lucky people. They had a makeshift comercial that showed some concept art... I can't give much info out but think of it as a mix between two parks that will blow the socks off just about every theme park in the world. The park will be only open at night to fit it's purpose. It will also have a limited number of people admitted each night because it will not operate the way Disney wants with crowds.

It is not the Beastly Kingdom but think of it like Adventures by Disney but a whole lot better........
