Glad to see more TR, disneygal! Your pics turned out greater than I hoped mine were.

Re: California Girl Meets World (and here's her trip report)

The AA show and the amphitheater show weren't running at the time so really there was no reason to spend time there. We did go into the AA show lobby to have a look at the displays in there which I liked but mostly because they had an actual Chippendale and Queen Anne Chair owned by Presidents. I'm an interior design major so I spent half of last semester studying these historic and beautiful pieces of furniture.

    .
I think the America pavilion is pretty majestic. I wish we had a better counter service (or a table service) to match.

    Nice pics!

First time I have ventured over here to the WDWR forum...I am tempted to make the trek cross country to check out "the other park"!
    Nice trip report

    DAY 4

    It was on to...

What I most looked forward to was...

and I wasn't disappointed. It's one of my favorite rides. We were able to almost walk onto it so we went twice in a row and then one last time right before we left the park.

We went on a little safari.

You take a train out to the Planet Watch. Really the only good thing out there was that there were several characters out there and no lines!

I have an endless amount of pictures of "the tree".

I agree about the American pavillion being unimpressive. American Adventure may be great but it's a pretty boring pavillion on the outside. It also seems weird to me tha they went with a Colonial theme when Mk already has the colonial-themed Liberty Square. I feel like they could have done so much more with our country.

From what I've read, the Imagineers wanted the show to be spectacular, but didn't feel like a fancier pavilion was needed, due to the fact that most guests would be Americans anyway.

I'm with Denise - I think the pavilion is fine, but they could have done better with a signature restaurant, or even better with fast food.

Re: California Girl Meets World (and here's her trip report)

I think that they had just as beautiful buildings as the others there but with both shows closed there was just no reason to spend any amount of time there so it didn't leave any sort of impression on me.

Your TR is great! Such wonderful photos! Thank you for sharing it. Great to read about WDW from someone who hasn't been before but has been to DL love the comparisons.

What kind of Camera do you use? If you don't mind sharing?

Originally, the American pavilion was to be grand and elevated above the other pavilions so it would be noticed. It would have been located near where the Odyssey is now.
However, the idea was brought up that if the pavilion were elevated and grand, it may seem as if Disney was making America superior to the other countries. So, it was moved to its current location with a design change as well.

Thank you! I'm using the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT Camera. The camera is perfect for what I use it for,

Thank you for the information. I guess it makes sense to play it down.
