Red Face Should The Magic Kingdom make a Haunted Cinderella Castle for Sept/Oct?

I would love to see a haunted Cinderella decorated castle for the halloween parties and party fireworks show. Orange, yellow and purple lights here and there, giant cobwebs, lightening effects throughout the night, Hazel the witch flying around the castle.

Yeah it does sound tacky but I still think it would be fun to try out for a year to see what kind of feedback the park gets from it.

Just an idea. Hate it or love it.

As long as I could still walk through the castle. Maybe take away Hazel the witch.

not feeling it... too much of a clash with the imagery they have built up around the castle and the princesses

Hmm, this would be something they would have to be very careful of, there's a fine line between taste and trash and this could easily go in the wrong direction. LOL

I actually like the idea. I think "taste" was abandoned for over a year in 1996, this actually sounds like it could be fun. As long as the castle doesn't get decorated pink with candy!

Is 1996 the year they made the cake look like it was a pink inflatable kid bounce in the shape of a cake? If so, yeah, they've already done tasteless, so I doubt it could get much worse. ha ha!!

Even though it's a princess' castle, it could still have something "evil" take it over. Isn't that the premise behind almost every Disney movie? I actually really like that idea. Villains are just as popular as heroes I would think.

Have they ever done anything to the appearance of the castle for a short duration though? I'm thinking since there's so much work involved, they'd like to install something that's going to be up there for at least three months or so. I guess anything Halloween or even just haunted could stay up until Thanksgiving though. So, Sept through November.

I can see it. Good idea.

As much as I like it when the kingdom does special things and events, I don't like the idea of making the castle haunted. The only reason I say this is that WDW is a vacation destination for people from around the country. Folks have to save up years to go on vacation to WDW and I think that the park should look every bit as pristine and magical as they hoped it would be. While there are plenty of people out there who would love to come to Florida to see a castle decked out in spiderwebs and pumpkins, there would be just as many who wanted a picture in front of the most recognizable castle on Earth in all of its fairytale glory.

I think an idea like this is much better suited for Disneyland, where its largely local fan base would appreciate some unique changes and decorations for the season.

    Great idea!

Done tastefully it could be a lot of fun.

Just don't let the folks who decorated the "Castle Cake" anywhere near it. Remember the UPT or Pepto-Bismol cake?

    Haunted Castle! Great!

ORDDU: Someone had once suggested this same idea for Sleeping Beauty's Castle in California. Since Sleeping Beauty as Maleficent for a villain, we thought the idea of projected shadows of thorns rising up to surround the castle walls might work for a Halloween accent out in California.

ORWEN: But, over-all, we think Cinderella's Castle should be left alone during Halloween. There are already too many excuses they've come up with to ruin the castles, as it is. And since you can't really improve on perfection, why not just leave those pretty buildings alone as much as possible. Besides, you already have a Haunted Mansion as a centerpiece for Halloween. Why try to drag the castle into it all, too? I mean, what would Cinderella think? And what would the Fairy Godmother do?

ORDDU: Sometimes one can go too far with an idea and end up ruining the intended theme of something.

I doubt it's going to happen. When we were there in October last year they were dressing the castle for Christmas and that frosty look they wanted to create. Having to dress it for Halloween just wouldn't give them time to get things changed over.
I'm content with the Hallowishes show. That works for me.
Worth noting though that at Paris they do dress over items at Halloween (Frontierland becomes Halloweenland) and have pumpkin men going round trying to make everything orange. The Molly Brown riverboat is draped to look like a mummy!
Now I'll turn that little mouse's dream into a nightmare Fantasmic !

    the Haunted Castle sounds great
and while there at it maybe they it would be cool to make the HM the Haunted Mansion Holiday and IASW Its a Small World Holiday (with new Halloween and Christmas effects)

I am very cautious of any plan to change any of the parks main Icons (excpet for the blue hat at DHS)

I just fear that any changes to the main Icons might result in a change that is not removed for years on end... i.e. THE WAND!

But all the same... I was a super huge fan of the Christmas lights on Cinderella's castle.... so I guess lets try it out!

too bad they can't bring the Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour to FL THAT would be COOL! but I don't think the FL castle has the space to do it.
