December - The Big Shows

We are currently in the works of planning a trip in WDW in early December. Starting sometime around the 3rd or 4th with the date and length of stay depending a little on the answer to this question. We did DL this last April and loved the smaller crowds, but had one problem. Things such as the MSEP, Fireworks, Main Street Parade, and Fantasmic (which was down) were only done on Friday and Saturday nights that time of year. Due to this we had to make some very hard decisions on what shows to see. So the question is this. Are there any shows in WDW that only run that time of year on weekends? If so what are they and what park are they located in? We are currently debating on doing a first day Friday and trying to go through the next Saturday or just sticking to a 6-7 days with only the one weekend. We don't want to feel like we missed something due to poor planning as odds are this will be our only trip to WDW in a long time. Thank you for any help you have.

At that time of year you could do the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This would give you some extra time in the day and also let you experience the Christmas parade and shows. It is an extra cost!

Pretty much everything should be running since it is right after Thanksgiving. The weekend after Thanksgiving they tape the Christmas Parade in the MK on Saturday and also film the stars singing Christmas songs in front of the castle. They want people to line the parade route on Main Street to wave at the cameras. You can contact guest relations and see if they will know the days that the regular parade will not be run. The only other problem will be Pop Warner in town which can be a mess especially if you stay at The All Star Resorts.
