Re: This could be the end to Wonders Of Life

First of all, this is not confirmation of anything. Just because it is not on the site doesn't mean it's gone for good. I wouldn't throw any farewell parties until Disney gives the official word.

That said, here is my opinion. I think the pavilion should be demolished and something new coming in. I think that pavilion is too Richard-Simmons-I-Love-the-80's-ish. The white is blinding and Body Wars is extremely dated. The only good part there is Cranium Command. I think they can still have a Life theme and still have it be a pavilion, but I think they have to start from scratch.

I don't think the thread is necessarily a love of keeping the pavilion open, but that they do SOMETHING with it, either reopen or change it out. I would be happy with either. Still waiting for StormRider. Or how about a Time pavilion where we could move our friend, the Timekeeper?

Re: This could be the end to Wonders Of Life

Well, Wonders of Life could certainly use an overhaul, as it is firmly stuck in the 80's. And it's pretty amusing to have an attraction featuring Bobcat Goldthwait(sp?), Hans & Franz and Norm from Cheers. When it was open, there must have been a few hundred kids wondering what that was all about.

What upsets me is, I'm going to be in Epcot Aug. 25/26th, and The Living Seas will also be closed for remodling. I'm still hoping WoL gets reopened as an alternative, but I'm left right now with a lot of rides, but not many exhibit areas. And I for one miss them. Mission: Space is a decent ride, but it would have been better with some decent hands-on space exhibits post-show.

Point is, my worry is that a total razing of WoL would put in a new ride, and that's it. And I for one will miss that hot/cold demonstration with the heated bars, and that weird perspective room. I don't know why, cause they're also vaguely lame, but I like the science museum feel...that's slowly fading away.

I was hoping the same thing for Sept/Oct. With Living Seas down, it would be great if they could open it back up for a few months. I skipped it in 2003, then having no clue it was about to become seasonal

We visited it the first year it opened. I never thought about it but we never went back in during all of our trips after that one.

Does anybody remember the batting cage where you could get hitting tips from former catcher Gary Carter who was watching your swings via satellite? That was one of the cheeziest things ever. OK, I admit it, I did do it once!

No way, the batting cages were awesome.

Sadly, like most others in here, I agree that it has met its day.

I like mission space even though they had to raze Horizons, which I really like(d). I think we can see a first class attraction go up in its place.

Although I would like nothing more than an Extreme Makeover: Pavilion Edition, the key words in what WDWMagic says is "unconfirmed rumors."

Who knows? Since it talks about EPCOT cast members, they might have read it from this thread.

Re: This could be the end to Wonders Of Life

i don't even remember WOL at all, i haven't been inside that building since i was probably on my elementary school trip in 5th grade. it probably didn't seem that interesting to me since i don't remember ever wanting to go back to that pavillion again. Which says a lot, because Epcot is my favourite park. And it's funny that they're using he pavillion so extensively for the F&W festival, because i think the lack of alcoholic refreshments in that area may have been one of the reasons i don't spend much time there.....

A little bird told me about some projects involving the WOL in the near future.
