To me, a mermaid is a mythical creature. It counts

and why wouldn't Ursula or the damned talking crab fit then
I place mermaids, Minotaurs and Centaurs among mythical races not mythical animals. Sphinxes too.

Dragons are tricky. In many stories Dragons are smart, in some they are more animal in nature. So I do not have an easy answer for this. I would say that if Dragons are in the Beastly Kingdom, they should be depicted in their less intellegent version.

Think of it this way. Animal Kingdom is supposed to be a zoo. Would mermaids or centaurs allow themselves to be placed in exhibits to be gawked at by people? Wouldn't they complain? To me it would be like locking up humans in a zoo exhibit. As far as a Little Mermaid ride in the Beastly Kingdom, I'd be against it. However, an Ariel meet and greet like the one in Disneyland would be fine with me. To me you could have some of the fantasy based characters in the land. I've always thought it would be neat if they did something like the Aegean stable with an animatronic Pegasus. It could be like what Universal did with the Triceratops encounter at IOA. Have Hercules or Megara there too.

It is a really elaborate and great zoo, but it is a zoo.

    haha here we go again.....

So just to clarify, mermaids and minotaurs are NOT part of DAK's theme right now, as there isn't a land for them. Right now there's Dinosaurs, Asia, Africa, and other animals that live amongst us. Until then, ariel is still quite homeless.

Hydra. Now that's a mythical beast I'd like to see an anmatronic for!

Ariel could fit, but not the story of The Little Mermaid. The story is about escaping the animal world, not embracing it.

Triton: Oh, Ariel, How many times must we go through this? You could've been seen by one of those barbarians - by - by one of those humans!
    Ariel: Daddy, they're not barbarians!
Triton: They're dangerous. Do you think I want to see my youngest daughter snared by some fish-eater's hook?

Triton: Is it true you rescued a human from drowning?
    Ariel: Daddy, I had to...
Triton: Contact between the human world and the mer world is strictly forbidden. Ariel, you know that! Everyone knows that.
    Ariel: He would have drowned.
Triton: One less human to worry about.
Ariel: You don't even know him.
Triton: Know him? I don't have to know him. They're all the same! Spineless, savage, harpooning fish-eaters, incapable of any feeling...
    Ariel: Daddy, I love him!
Triton: No! Have you lost your senses completely? He's a human, you're a mermaid!
    Ariel: I don't care.
Triton: So help me, Ariel, I am going to get through to you; and if this is the only way, so be it!

Louis: [singing] Les... pois... sons, les poissons / How I love les poissons / Love to *chop* and to serve little fish / First I cut off their heads, then I pull out their bones / Ah, mais oui ça c'est toujours delish / Les poissons, les poissons, Hee-hee-hee, ho-ho-ho! / With the cleaver I *hack* them in two / I pull out what's inside, and I serve it up fried / 'Cause I love little fishes, don't you? / Here's something for tempting the palate / Prepared in the classic technique / First you *pound* the fish flat with the mallet / Then you slash through the skin, give the belly a slice / Then you rub some salt in, 'cause that makes it taste nice!

I still say a dark ride of Little Mermaid would be a nice fit next to the Nemo show, but I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

I suppose the Nemo show could be a launching point for an "Australia" Land.

Here lies another problem. The Nemo show doesn't belong there either. It's in DINOLAND U.S.A of all lands! This would be forgivable in Camp Mickey Minnie (though the land itself isn't quite as forgivable). The nemo show is just that: a show. Tarzan Rocks! had no business being in Dinoland either.

To put it more specifically, the theater that Nemo is presented in is a "neutral" zone. So even though the show within is Nemo, that doesn't mean that the land outside is about to be forced into an underwater theme either.

Its easily seperated into its won land by adding water or australian animals/attractions. My idea would sepearate it from DinoLand
