Re: Should Disney offer Free Internet Service for their resort Guests?

Practically, no, I don't believe they should eliminate the cost.

Personally, I wouldn't mind free internet because most off sites offer free WiFi and I believe that WDW should be competitive.

But at the end of the day I don't stay long enough for it to make or break my weekend.

It would be nice if they did. If the Holiday Inn on cheesy I-Drive can offer it, so can Disney.

But the Holiday Inn on cheesy I-Drive needs the business. WDW's hotels are doing just fine without freebies like internet service.

You are so right. Disney does not have to give anything away. They don't even have an 800 number for the general public....why, people are going to call anyway so why should they pay for it.

Then Disney can keep guests on the phone trying to sell packages and tickets the guests don't need - on the guests dime!

I would think that 1-800 numbers will go the way of the Edsel in the near future. Too many calling plans include long distance for a flat fee now. For all the complaining of prices going up on things (and they are, I don't like paying $3.00 or more for gas), phone service has really gotten cheap over the years. Also internet service, I used to pay $$$$ to connect for any length of time. Disney has eliminated the local phone call charge, so getting online can be free if you have a dial-up connection.

Probably silver, not likely a top (unless you add an umbrella to it!)

Yes, they should, frankly. I mean, let's wake up and smell the millenium.

I, myself, cheat. I go to websites before I leave and find where the free wifi hotspots are and, well, I head over there with, at least, my PalmPilot, to check emails. I have to. I usually travel during the school year and I have to be ready to send stuff back to my middle school whenever possible.

Yeah, I know, I should be on vacation and let the others handle it. They usually do.

But peace-of-mind is always worth it.

    Peace,

Denise I just tried to use Dial up at WDW and was still charged. There was no distinction between dial up and wireless. This was over Christmas. I will be there in 17 days, so I can update further.

Also Denise did you get my emails to you about the question I had posed? Let me know thanks
