On another thread there is a chat about the unique dining experience Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian.
This got me thinking about other great things that you can do at the Disney resorts even if you aren't staying at that resort.
Of course there are great Monorail and boat rides (I love to hop on the boat at Downtown Disney and check out Port Orleans.)
Then there's a free torch lighting ceremony at the Polynesian (it's like seeing a 5 minute version of the Spirit of Aloha show... but it's free.)
There's cane pole fishing at Port Orleans (for $4 I believe) and they also have horse drawn carriage rides (not sure what that costs.)
Fort Wilderness also has horse drawn carriage rides and they also have a free petting zoo.
At night Fort Wilderness does a sing a long with Chip and Dale as well as a campfire and outdoor movie (for free!)
For free you can also take a walk on the boardwalk (by Boardwalk Inn) or the beach (over at Grand Floridian, Poly or Contemporary) or you can stand there at night and watch the Electric Water Pageant (if you have never seen that make sure and catch it on your next trip!)
Of course Animal Kingdom Lodge has the amazing feature of: GIRAFFES, and if you are there after dinner time you can check the animals out using night vision goggles.
Over at Wilderness Lodge there is a geyser that shoots water up to amazing heights.
And the All Stars have really cool giant statues (and All Star Movies has a replica Herbie the Love Bug!)
What cool things have you done at a Disney resort (for free OR for a fee)?
It can be a restaurant, a quiet place to walk or a loud band...
