With the whole super hero theme, you could always have the ride be the sequal!

It would be a fun play on the super hero genre.

I hope we don't get another Nemo ride. I am Nemo-outed. At least Iger saying 'No Ratatouille attractions' means that Ratatouille will not suffer the gratitous pimping out that has befallen Nemo and Toy Story, and soon Cars.

Coming in 2010, The Hall of Car Presidents.
Coming in 2011, Spaceship Eath re-enacted by toys.

Yeah, but that wouldn't be destroying a long established classic, and Disney likes to destroy classics.

I don't think Crush's coaster should go at DHS. It should go at AK. What is right behind the Nemo show building? That's right, Dinoland. Take out Primevil Whirl, put Crush's coaster there, retheme Triceretops spin to Nemo, bring Jumpin' Jellyfish from DCA to AK and get rid of the road-side Dino theme for a Nemo/underwater theme.

Win, Win.

Re: Bob Iger says, "No Ratatouille Attractions"

This really isn't news. When they killed the Rat coaster at DCA, it was kind of a foregone conclusion that it wouldn't be coming to The Park Formerly Known as The Disney-MGM Studios.

I loved the film. It was delightful and quirky and unique, like all the Pixar films really. But there needs to be a balance between attractions that have character ties and those that don't. The balance has tilted way too much in the cartoon direction and it is one reason why the MK is such a mess.

Look at the two biggest hits at WDW in years: Soarin and Everest ... no character tie-ins to either. Even Mission Space, which is only moderately successful, would be another example.

And while the Nemo Seacabs have been a huge hit, take a look at the other character-infused attractions ... stuff like MILF, SGE, Tiki Room UNder New Management ... all failures both creatively and financially.

Careful now. I've said the same thing and been blasted because Soarin' has Tinkerbell at the end. Apparently those three seconds of screen time are why people stand in line for hours...

You know, honestly, I never even noticed her and had to really think about it now that you mention it.

Re: Bob Iger says, "No Ratatouille Attractions"

I am not sure that Ratatouille warrants a ride, but I hated that it has to be a "franchise" to be a ride. Dumbo was not exactly selling really well when Walt made that a ride. That ride is a classic now for young kids. Alice and Wonderland LOST a million dollars on first release but it makes a wonderful ride.

Sometimes just a segment from the movie would be great to experience in person. It does not have to re-tell the whole plot of the movie. For example, I would love to ride a magic carpet all over the world like Aladdin and Jasmine did but not relive the whole plot of the movie.

I just hate it when "synergy" has to be the criteria on what makes a great ride.

I agree fully. Don't forget the great and wonderful Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The film that came from wasn't exactly a major hit either.
I would want an Aladdin ride where you escape from the Cave of Wonders on a magic carpet.

Re: Bob Iger says, "No Ratatouille Attractions"

Rides should be made based on an idea (and theme) FIRST. Movie tie-in LAST. Fantasyland is brought up a lot and I'm guilty of it too but that's an entirely different situation where the animated storybook is WELCOME.

None of Pixar's films really belong in Fantasyland at all! What has happened is that they've been shoe-horned into every OTHER land, which is also a big mistake.

that's why I really do hope for a PIXAR PLACE or something similar at Disney's Hollywood Studios. They need a realm of their own where we can forgive a logistical loophole for why something is the way it is... like how Buzz and his Etch-a-sketch are ginormous. Did we shrink or did he grow??

For a listing of all of the animated features and their rides, restaurants, shops that were inspired by them, I made a thread here:
http://micechat.com/forums/showthrea...lms-52436.html

do let me know if i missed anything.
