I never said Ratatouille was not worthy. I love that movie, and it touched me more than The Incredibles did (and the fact that I have a pet rat is only part of the reason). I would like to see a Ratatouille dark ride, if it was done well. However, because The Incredibles are superheroes, I think that lends itself better to a ride (or 3D movie??) than a rat-chef in Paris.

I don't disagree. All I mean, is that according to Mr Iger neither movie will get an attraction since neither is a franchise by his definition

Iger didn't mention The Incredibles in that quote. Clearly, the Incredibles will be a Pixar franchise; Brad Bird said last year he is working on ideas for The Incredibles 2. As for an Incredibles ride, it would be incredible (ha ha) if they didn't make one. I'm just surprised they haven't announced one yet.

If Bird is indeed looking at a sequel to The Incredibles, the earliest it would be out is 2013. I find it doubtful though that The Incredibles is really considered a franchise. The film was a great success, but does not continue to bring in the merchandise dollars like Toy Story or Cars.

I personally think they need to take the Incredibles to the TV and internet. I think they would find monumental success as a Saturday Morning cartoon show and as an internet comic.

I think the Incredibles are characters taht you fall in love with and that over time you become very attached to, and eventually own a whole house in Incredibles merchandise.

And as Al Lutz said, the reason the Ratatouille coaster got the axe was because the film hasn't sold enough merchandise.

did the Incredibles? Anybody have any merchandise stats? I'm not sure if they will ever do an Incredibles 2. And for the record, I would love an Incredibles attraction

I don't know stats, but let's put it this way.
Cars has its own line of merchandise.
Toy Story has its own line of merchandise.
The Little Mermaid has its own line of merchandise and Ariel is a Disney Princess.
The Disney Store I work at mostly consist of Disney Princess, Disney Faries, The Little Mermaid, Cars, Toy Story, and Power Rangers. It doesn't matter how well it did, it is how well it is doing.

From my understanding, Hasbro has been handling the retail toys except for Cars, which was handled by Mattel. Hasbro for the most part has not been thinking about Disney geeks when making and designing these toys as they are more geared to younger children who have an IQ level of 3. Sales on Incredibles and Ratatouille of course did not do well because the toys were horrible. Who wants a figure of Dash that's the same size of his father? Who wants a hard plastic Rat when you can get the plush? etc etc.

CARS is doing very well because the toys not only resemble the film well, but the toys are totally geek friendly! (they're hot wheels... they're disney characters... they're highly collectible!)

For a toy to sell well, all it really needs is to be film accurate. Hasbro's take on the pixar toys have been less than impressive.

According to many sites, WDI were in the planning stages of an Incredibles ride using the kuka robotic arm technology, before Universal snagged exclusive rights to this mechanism (which will be used in the upcoming Harry Potter ride at Islands of Adventure).

Corret. There was actually all kinds of disasterous plans at Imagineering to bulldoze Carousel of Progress and a chunk of the TTA to build the big show building for the Incredibles ride. And yea, Imagineering was going to shove Incredibles (a super hero cartoon tie in) into Tomorrowland which has already been destroyed by Stitch, Monsters Inc, and Buzz lightyear tie ins which are all lame attractions on top of that (Buzz is just mediocre).

How well are the Cars toys selling. I always see huge bins of them on sale at Toys R Us

Cars are selling ENORMOUSLY well. But it does become a problem when supply finally meets demand and you will end up with a lot of left overs. If you think about when CARS came out (2006), the cars you see in the bin are the same cars they sold that summer. I think its time to retire many of them.
