Re: Food and wine festival, have you done it, and is it fun?

I would suggest searching MC for trip reports as I know a number of them have been put up here.

It's a great event that will be in its 13th year. More information (concert information, etc.) will be available on Epcot.com once it is released. It's always lots of fun and is one of my favorites. Sometimes it gets a bit busy, especially on the weekends but I still like it.

Love the Food and Wine Festival, sure it can get quite expensive for small portions but the food was oh so good! And I don't remember the crowds being too bad when me and my husband went but it might have just been the days we went and we just got lucky. But it is definitely something to go check out!

I have had a lot of folks tell me to stay clear as the crowds are terrible, and on the weekends especially.
Yes the weekends are especially busy because that's when the locals come out.

Re: Are there dream teams in WDW ?

I got the last pair dream ears at Downtown Disney one day last year. That's the only thing I've gotten and I visit the parks 3-4 times a year.

Re: Are there dream teams in WDW ?

We only saw 2 dream team members the whole time we were in WDW. Those fast passes would have been nice though. Are they only good for one day - like the ones at Disneyland? I would hope that they'd give you more time.

I am there often, and only won a lanyard myself. (my parents won the castle, I just got to benefit from that!)

It is a MUST for any park fan! The samplings, and tastings are divine, and the partys are a must!

Re: Are there dream teams in WDW ?

The big thing I won was a Dream FP, I was alone that day and I had a BTM train car all to myself, they topped it off nicely with the FP.

Other than that we have won some little things or things that used to be included but are now considered "dreams". Like I was chosen to go up and taken a photo of the owl flying over my head in "Flights of Wonder," the bird show at DAK. Also, my daughter has won free ice cream and she got to throw a bean bag into a box in one of the stores.

Re: Food and wine festival, have you done it, and is it fun?

You know, I think I might actually skip it this year. I just didn't have as good a time last year as I did previously. Way too many people and the food offerings were underwhelming. I don't like wine, so I didn't bother with any of the free tastings and stuff. I just can't justify paying $4 for a tiny cup of Kronenbourg 1664 when I can buy a whole 6 pack bottles of it for a couple bucks more at the local ABC Liquor. Or $7 for a margarita? I can get a much better one for half that elsewhere.

Sharing is the key to a successful Food and Wine Festival.

I couldn't agree more, there's just too many choices to try to do it without having a few people along for the experience! We went one time with my best friend and his wife and we met up with a few CM's we knew and had a great time.

Re: Food and wine festival, have you done it, and is it fun?

My husband and I love this event more than Flower and Garden. Honestly, other than the locals coming out on the weekends, I believe a lot of people feel it is more crowded because of all the temp booths set up from countries and regions that are not normally part of World Showcase. It makes the walkways a little more crowded but I feel it is more than worth it for the chance to sample some foods I normally wouldn't pay full price for a full size portion in a restaurant. My husband and I are actually taking a weekend away from our daughters in a couple weeks close to home to test the waters to see if we can spend a whole weekend away from them in the fall just or the Food and Wine Festival. If you would like to see some of the pics I took of my food last year here is a link to my photo file of them.

Thank you for posting the link to the pictures, it was so much fun to look at. I would LOVE to get one of the white chocolate horse and carriages. They are gorgeous. Do you know if they sell those anywhere? Or are they only exclusive for the winners of the castle suite? Thanks again!
