What exactly is a ticket person? Is that like a churro person? Or a dole whip person? Why you gotta lump us all into one group?

Equality.....hello...

I say we take our ticket, go through the turnstiles, grab a Dole Whip and end the day with a churro.

See how that works?

Oh... PFFT. So I had the words slightly mixed up. Everyone knew what I meant.

They would be CMs who work in Ticketing, duh! Add in Vacation Planners, Guest Relations, Concierge and they might like the tickets more - but if you get them outside of the TTC then maybe you'd just rather be transported?

I'm glad you're finally planning a trip Hakuna Makarla! I was visiting the parks this weekend so I'll try to catch up/keep up but I'm sure the others have covered your questions so far.

I'll just add on to your last questions and what Summer mentioned. The train at MK only has 3 stops and it doesn't run late like it will at Disneyland so guests don't tend to use it to navigate the park. I mean, you could -- but most will walk instead. Some will ride the Monorail to Epcot from MK or vise versa, but if you have a rental car (and stay on Disney property) you can change parking locations to help you get home earlier as well.

Dining is one of the HUGE differences when it comes to WDW and DLR. There are so many options and so many wonderful ones you just can't miss! My favorites would be:
  • 'Ohana (Polynesian Hotel) dinner
  • Beaches and Cream (Beach Club Resort) dessert/lunch - ice cream location accessible by exiting Epcot via the International Gateway
  • '50s Prime Time Cafe (Disney's Hollywood Studios) lunch/dinner
  • Brown Derby (Disney's Hollywood Studios) lunch/dinner
  • Le Cellier Steakhouse (Epcot/Canada) lunch/dinner
  • Crystal Palace (MK) character dining
  • Sunshine Seasons (Epcot/Land) QSF&B breakfast
  • Boulangerie Patisserie (Epcot/France) QSF&B snack/light meal
(See AllEars for dining menus & prices. I suggest lunches for some as they often offer the same menu, but are less expensive.) I didn't mention Chef Mickey's as I feel it's quite comparable to Goofy's Kitchen, but that's just my opinion. It's still a lot of fun.

I want to thank you guys for answering my questions and not being mean about it. some times people tend to be short or snotty and since my memory is not to sharp now, ( long story ) I really am trying to get info and keeping a small note pad with the parks seperatly marked so I can use all this wondeful info you give me as a guide to take with me.
this is a real big trip for me, since disneyland was a huge undertaking from someone living in a small town who did not ever go places, walt disney world is huge. but I am sure, with info, and insight ( and much writing it down) I can do this and do it with out stress.
again, all of you thank you!!!

Beware of "gottaseeanddoitallitis" A lot of first time visitors think they can see and do everything in one trip, they buy the touring plans and get all stressed out trying to do it all or pay a lot of money for a tour guide who runs them back and forth across the parks to get all the rides and attractions in. I've seen the good bad and the ugly of people following the plans and tour guides the common theme in all of them is it takes someone who is physically fit enough to walk (more like job/run for some) 20+ miles a day versus the normal 9-10. Those I know who have tried this technique got to do all or most of the attractions but where exhausted and missed out on the details of the experience due to the tunnel vision of running point to point all day. By the train and transport questions It sounds like that's not for you...

I would suggest looking on the official web site and start making a list of those attractions you would like to see/do in each park. The "add to my favorites" button is great for this. Then go into your profile and print out the list or better yet order the free customized maps from the web site. Then I would make one sheet of paper for each park and sit down with the family and decide which attractions are Must see's, Want to see's and then would be nice if we have time. These are the checklists you take to the park to keep focused.

Now I will warn you due to the size of the parks, rehabs, and of course the "ooh look at that" factor you may not be able to see and do everything on your list, but this way you can hopefully get o see the ones that are most important to you and your group and the rest are the start of your list for the next trip.

I did just that Brad, we are doing only what we are so intent on doing, and things Disneyland did not have. we are going to pace our selves, and do only one side of the Magic kingdom a day. next day epcot ( not the whole park, the rides only. then the next will be hollywood. then the animal kingdom. we can not possibly do all the full parks, just the rides we want to do and some fuin things. we did the dining plan, but obviously we are new, can not possibly find out way around to find these wonderful spots so we are going to make it easy.
magic kingdom.. crystal castle for one dinner.
coral reef another night. 50's diner the next... and so on. lunch will be just a counter service and breakfast will be at our hotel.
Depending on how late the parks are open the first saturday in december we may make it in to play for a few hours, we do not get in until a little after 5:00 so we shall see.
I can not wait to see what the rehabs are, it better not be everst !! or rocking roller coaster I have got to do these.

Yes you can use the DDP for the Fantasmic Dinner package, the seating is on the far left hand side as you face the stage it's the closest area from your entrance. you enter at the front of the park not the back like the others without the dinner package seating, just wait by the stroller rentals. Times will vary basedon the day you go but when you reserve it at 407-WDW-DINE the agent can give you the times.

Fantasmic is unique to DHS, the magic Kingdom has a fireworks show called Wishes and Epcot has Illuminations. There is no fireworks show at AK.

And before you ask why, this is because Animal Kingdom closes long before it gets dark out.

Which is too bad. I've luckily been in the park at night (as late as 11pm over Christmas) and the park is stunningly beautiful! There's nothing like riding Everest in the pitch black.

Re: Karla's WDW Questions.

KARLA!!!!!! You are going to WDW!!!!!!

Good girl, you will not be sorry my dear. And you are picking the perfect week to go. We love to go the first 2 weeks of Dec because crowds are light, the Xmas decos are out and everything is so festive. Granted, hours are shorter, but you still get in a full day's worth.

And I think you are wise to stick to one park a day for your first visit. Park hopping eats up so much time IMHO when you are not sure where you are going, relying on park buses. Eating in the parks saves lots of time too, but there are options that are relatively close via monorail from the MK, restaurants in the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Poly. These are 3 monorail stops to the MK and sometimes it gives you a nice break to exit and reenter the parks feeling refreshed. Epcot, you've got the world at your finger tips with awesome restaurants, some of my favs. And the Sci-Fi at DHS is a great choice for the kids, and you too.

Are you taking all the kiddos?

I'll try to keep tabs on this thread and be happy to answer any ?? you may have, planning is half the fun. I may be a CA girl but I have 11, 2 week trips under my belt, and an Annual pass, so I know the parks pretty well.

I'm so happy for you!!

BTW, my DH kinda mentioned last week about going again this Xmas, so who knows, I'm always game.
