Karla's WDW Questions.

So I have decided to finally go to WDW and not be intimidated. but I have sooo many questions and I am looking for answers from those of you WDW experts

1. do they have a dining plan they do in the fall?

2. what resort would you choose to stay on a budget....

3.what month ( in the fall ) would you choose to go where its not so crowded and not hot?

4. extra magic hours? are these included in your WDW trip package?

hope someone can answer these questions, and thank you

The whole month is good, we've always had good weather and MNSSHP is that month also.

No, you must add it on and there is no discount for adults, but children under 9 are only $10.00 per day.

All stars, I heard pop century, why all stars ?

Pop Century is not one of our favorites...way too noisy. It's like a Motel 6 on property.

and thank you Wolfy!!

And your welcome Karla!!

You can get the Dining Plan anytime you go however in December it is not free...unless of course a FREE dining deal comes out. Last year and this year, the Free dining has on been offered for late August - mid Sept. only.

The All Stars are nice, but personally Pop Century is one of the best values...newer resort too.

Anytime in the fall is nice...

Extra Magic hours are included as long as you stay on-site.

Re: WDW in December... any specials on dining etc?

The dining plan is no longer any real deal especially if at some point you do a 2 credit TS.

If you can do a mod resort, I like the Caribbean Beach but most prefer the French Quarter. I would do a mod if I could.

The best time to go is the first week of Dec. The Christmas decor and events are amazing and its very quiet.

As long as you stay in a Disney resort you can do the EMH

Enjoy

All of the All Star Resorts along with Pop Century are the same price. Moderates are all the same price also (but more of course).

Hope that helps.

Re: WDW in December... any specials on dining etc?

Ok.... more questions please ( and you have all been wonderful!! )
I still want to go in December. so much to see ,lights, holiday decorations and the osborn lights.

1. what resort hotel would be nice but also least expensive?

2. ok, so dining plan is out. can I go to any resturant and ask for a table? I know I would have to wait, but are reservations really needed since I do not know where everything is, can I just go to some place that has food and order or wait for a table?

3. if I do pay for a dining plan, where would I find the cost for 1 adults and children ?

4. if we stick to our dates of December 8th thru the 15th, can some one direct me to ride closures, and or cast member party and other dates to avoid?
again thank you

oh ok, so if I stay at a moderate, which one is easier to get to the parks, or do they all take the same transit to get there?
thanks wolfy

Depends on the restaurant. If you're not picky about where and when you want to eat, then you can do that especially during a slow time. To save money, you might want to eat at a lot of counter service places anyway. But if you really wanted to eat at Le Cellier then make an ADR

I would still make ressies for a couple of sit-downs. Maybe you should make a couple of later ressies for resort restaraunt where it really wouldn't matter what park you were at. I would personally recommend Boma (a buffet) and 'ohana (family style) which offers pretty good value and are two of the best places to eat. Boma is my personal favorite. If you have kids and they want a character meal, then you definately should make an ADR. My choice would be Chef Mickey's.

I would personally recommend at least one sit down at World Showcase in Epcot. To me a trip to Disney is not complete without such a meal. My favorites are the San Angel Inn in Mexico and Chefs de France in France (as if you couldn't guess). Most polls however list Le Cellier in Canada as the best and I think its good.

Hope that helps

They are all about the same. Again, Carribean Beach and the French Quarter offer bus service to the parks on a regular basis. Same with all the mods and value resorts. Some have better service than others.

wonderful info!
Now about the character meals, are they in the parks, or do I have to hit some motel like Disneyland? we loved goofys kitchen but man that was in the Disneyland hotel and to far to walk some days. also the one in the paradise pier. way to far to have a meal in my opinion.

I love mexican, I will look into the San angel inn. what park is that in?

Re: WDW in December... any specials on dining etc?

We are staying at the All Star Sports in August and it is the first stop for the Bus Service for the value resorts (nice perk), which can fill up quickly depending on the time of year, making it quite unpleasant for some. We never had any major problems from Carribean Beach, but Port Orleans we did. It all depends on the route your Hotel is on.

We found the best way to make sure we got to eat at all the places we wanted to was to make ressies 6 months in advance for every night of our stay. When we got there we looked at our plans and cancelled or adjusted those we had decided against.

Remember December can be quite a popular time at the Resorts.

An excellent resource for all your dining questions is allears.net, I know I used it a lot when booking my trips to WDW and will use again for my upcoming visit.

Another thing....you want to avoid walking much?....don't do WDW then. 7 miles a day is the average you spend walking. Remember it's a community of it's own!
