MK - 05/03/08 - People Mover was evacuated!

Hey there! Just got back from a double dose of theme parks, my daughter and I started the day at Sea World and ended it at Magic Kingdom.

Caught a lift on the monorail, there was no waiting when we arrived so we took the straight shot to the kingdom.

Yesterday was a day where I noticed things I hadn't before. Namely, this gate, I LOVE the mickeys at the top.

As we had just left Sea World, Christina thought it would be a good idea to sit in the rocking chairs on Main Street for a minute. My daughter tends to like to take things slow and hits almost all the relaxing rides, I wonder who she got that from.

Did you know that Goofy talks to you? C thought it was cool too!LOL

Time for some ice cream!

Stopped for a moment while C finished and took in the sights.

I saw this little seating area below and thought it would make a great place for a Mice Chat meet, then I realized it was the smoking section.

What a waste!

Our first stop was Monster's Inc., I admit this time around I thought it was stale and we will probably be skipping it from now on. Not to mention I got yelled at for taking photos, without flash or interruption, so I'm a little bitter.
Did manage to snag these before I was denied. LOL

Our next stop was the people mover, always a family favorite.

Little did I know that we would not get on the attraction that day, as the ride had to be evacuated!

They cut off the line at the gate, the attraction stopped and started two times while we were waiting to get on.

So close..

Is it wrong that I'm jealous and I wish I was stuck up there? LOL I mean really, who hasn't wanted to walk down the people mover track?

Then we stopped for dinner and jammed to Sonny Eclipse while we ate.

Then we stopped by Winnie the Pooh for some FP's and got a surprise FP!.....for Mickey's Philharmagic.

I guess it's a good idea, because MPH is a great attraction but never busy.

They put a new DVC kiosk in Fantasyland, they themed it to Dumbo. That's pretty much how I feel about it to.

Although they do have a place for wild animals. :P

I guess they figured with a shiny new kiosk, that Dumbo's queue covering needed to be replaced, looks good!

Next we stopped by the carousel, that's probably one attraction that always makes me feel like a kid again.

Had a few more minutes to kill before we could use our FP at Pooh, so we stopped by Snow White.

Say Evil, I saw a shirt you might like. :P

*sings* its a small world after all...must..keep..singing!

Traditional stop at the Haunted Mansion, I'm sorry I don't have photos this time but I will say that I don't know if it was the audio in my car, that was perfect, but I heard sounds and background noises I've never heard before. Whispering, mood music and creepy things that really added to the atmosphere, I loved it!

Ended the evening in Adventureland, one last dip on pirates and then it was time to head home.

On the way out we got stuck in the middle of the parade, only briefly though, was a great ending to a wonderfully fun filled day.

They seriously need to fix up the people mover. The past two times I've been there its broken down for some reason or another.

Summer... something is definitely up with the people mover... When I was down there last week for my brief 5hr visit, I got in line for the people mover and it broke down, and it was stopped for a good 45min before they started to let people off. Not sure if it ever came back on, but its ironic that it broke while you were there as well.

Might be time for a little down time to rehab that ride...

Yeah, I saw that shirt back in March and really, really wanted it but they don't make it big enough.

They seem to think all t-shirts should be sized for Juniors nowadays. Nice TR as always....makes me even sadder I won't be coming this weekend.

Well this last time at the end of March seemed to be caused by somebody tossin' their cookies.

But the other time I'm not sure but it was back in the end of December last year.

LMAO!!! how does one get sick on the people mover?? does it go like 1mph?? My grandma and her walker can walk faster than that ride....

Seriously whoever got sick had to be uber embarrassed to lose their lunch on that ride...

I think that it was somebody who didn't feel good as they boarded the attraction. So I'm not sure.

Jimmie and I got walked off the people mover in the October 06 MC Invasion. Didn't go all that far, as they led us down a staircase through the shop adjacent to Stitch.

On one of our trips, I think it was Feb. 07, my friend and I were walked off of Spaceship Earth. That's what I love about Disney fans. Most people would be annoyed at missing the ride, but we all look forward to the breakdowns. It is somewhat disappointing, but I know it'll be up and running again soon. And seeing SE with the lights on is well worth the missed ride.
