Great Video

Dedication Ceremonies For WDW

When they knew how to do a celebration. Simple yet it makes you want to cry.

And why don't they ring the bells anymore ?

Re: Great Video

The castle looked MASSIVE back then. Now it doesn't seem that big. And the hub seemed a lot bigger back then too and.... TREES!!!

I know... What happened?

But that is a beautiful ceremony done in true Disney style: a display of simplicity and grandeur all at the same time, while emitting the feelings of happiness and awe, glazed with an eternalness about it, an eternalness of hopes and dreams.

Re: Great Video

It doesnt look like Cinderella's castle in the video though. Maybe its the lighting.

Well the camera does add 10 tons...

Part of it is the optics, the other part is that buildings, vegetation and theming have encroached in on the hub area a bit, not the lack of popcorn stations and lighting/sound towers and stages. Also no SM and all in tomorrowland back then it was wide open.

It surely is. The castle seems so much larger then.

I absolutely agree. Too bad the hurricanes destroyed them.

The Disney Channel aired this a loooooooooong time ago. That's not even the current Mickey head in the corner. This probably aired as a part of Vault Disney. Oh, how I miss it.

Yet again, Disney misses the boat on a pretty popular topic. (Vintage Disney). Just look at how many members MiceAge has!

It wasn't hurricanes it was guests complaining they couldn't see the fireworks in the Hub.

Well if you have Comcast Digital cable go to On Demand and then Spotlight, then travel and leisure, then Disney. You can find free shorts, behind the scenes and travel videos for free.
