What would you do? 3 adults in a hotel room

Here's the deal. I want to return to Disney World in 09 with my grandson and his mom. We haven't been to Disney World together since 05. My 15 year old grandson definitely needs his own bed to sleep in. No more sleeping with mom, or grandma.

    What would you do?

2 hotel rooms at a value resort?

Where can you get the best set up for the cheapest price.

All suggestions are welcome - but keep in mind we definitely want to stay on property, and we are planning for Spring Break next year.

    Thanks ahead of time.

In that situation, I would either:

Go with a Fort Wilderness cabin or a suite at the All Star Music resort. Depending on possible discounts, it is hard to tell what might be a better deal. I like the Fort Wilderness cabin because it includes a full kitchen, so you can cook (or at least keep quite a bit of food around) and that can help save money. I also love Fort Wilderness, there are many great activities there.

The All Star Music Suite probably would otherwise be a better set-up (i.e - as far as bedding).

Do any of the WDW hotels offer roll-aways? Or have rooms with a sofa sleeper?

It's been years since I've been on a big family vacation, but most hotels I've stayed at (not at WDW) offered rooms with at least one of those available.

I recommend going to the Dolphin. The rooms are very roomy and sometimes are close in price to the Music Suites. You still get all the perks of being on-site but with a decidedly off-site price! check out allears.net for great deals on this hotel.

So does he need his own bed to sleep in, or his own room to sleep in? I've stayed at the All-Star Movies, and at the Pop Century and both times the room had two beds. Or do all three of you need a seperate bed, thus needing the extra room?
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

when we had a person with us who needed their own bed we just rented the roll away bed. They said it was comfortable.

I believe Disney World does provide roll-aways in most of their hotels.

I like Denise's suggestion of a cabin in FW, but you will want your own car

It depends what you are looking for in a resort. You can either get 2 rooms at a value (or an All Star Music Suite - which is what I would do, so everyone is in one unit). You can get 2 rooms at a moderate - though I believe the CBR still has rollaways. Disney may not tell you they do, but when I worked at DRC, the CBR was the only one who admitted to rollaways. Or you can get into the deluxe category, cabins or DVC.

Pricewise, the cabins often have better discounts. The All Star Music Suites are priced reasonably and have a wet bar too.

I worked for a Disney specialized travel agency for 6 years (and the Disney Reservation Center for 1 year), I normally would steer guests into what I have already mentioned. The Dolphin is very nice as well, if you can get a great deal on it. I wouldn't say that one would need a car at FW more than anywhere else.

Re: What would you do? 3 adults in a hotel room

In all of the deluxe resorts they have a sofa bed in the room, based on the ones used in the DCL. The are quite comfortable and come ready made, we had to use one when my wife broke her ankle at Epcot last trip. (Actually it was the subsequent fall that did the damage....)

Most economical Deluxe resorts would be either the AKL or WL on property. The cabins at FW are nice but where getting a bit dated last time I was there and according to some one the boards the internal bus system can sometimes take much longer than it should...

If your going to spend the extra money for 3 beds I would say just go with the deluxe resorts, you probably could use the extra room with the three of you anyway.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge has a queen-sized bed and a bunk bed. The Riverside Resort Bayou section has a trundle bed. We have stayed in both and loved the AKL but that is a bit pricey. Check out the Riverside online Barbara and see if you would like it.

I would just sleep in the same bed as a mom.
But if you want separate beds for some reason, just do the rollaway.
