    DottyWorld Trip Report 5/14-5/24

Almandot went to Walt Disney World! Here's a trip report about it!

Wait how long ago was this trip? Last week of course. But did I really get handed that ticket? Sure did!

I arrived on the 14th and Heather would not be arriving until the 16th, so in the meantime I visited and stayed with another good friend out there. That Thursday we headed to the Magic Kingdom so he could show me the new Haunted Mansion, and along the way we stopped to see some of the entertainment.

We parked and walked through the Grand Floridian
to ride the monorail into the Magic Kingdom and head straight
towards Liberty Square and Frontierland. Almost immediately,
some major differences in scenery became apparent.
But before we could do anything else we stumbled into Woody's Cowboy Camp.

And we had to give a big ole Hey Howdy Hey

With all the yeehaw over it was time to visit the mansion.
And I gotta say, while the new effects are cool, the crowds are so noisy that it loses most of its effect in the stretching room =P I almost prefer everyone in the room idly saying the spiel to themselves over the completely random noise to everyone talking amongst themselves because at least it helps you keep focus on the audio effect going on.

And look, an anonymous young artist drawing a mouse is here to greet us.

Followed by the big cheese himself.

    A puppet with no strings.

    And seven dancing dwarves.

As yet another artist draws us into a whole new world,
    practically perfect in every way.

And now for something completely different

And it was offffff to neverland!

Whew! I thought that would never end! I guess Disney Dreams go on forever!

With a few remaining minutes we went around Frontierland again and made our way onto a steamboat around the Rivers of America. And on the way out we saw Peter Pan. All in all a quick day really, but the real trip was still coming up.

Almandot, what a terrific start to your trip report! I love your layout and format. Not only is it visually compelling, it's structure helps tell the story. Thanks so much for the first installment and I'm looking forward to the rest!

Nice pictures! I agree about the Mansion chatter. I went on at closing time and got to soak in the effects.

    Re: DottyWorld Trip Report 5/14-5/24

My third day waking up in Florida, but Heather's first. So it was off to the Magic Kingdom for me again to begin our little twosome's vacation.

This time when I got there it was earlier in the morning and the sun was more just bright and less HI! HI THERE I'M ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD RIGHT NOW URINATING ON YOUR SHOULDERS WITH HUMIDITY! HIIIIIIIIIII!! For now...

Our first stop was to go get Splash Mountain fastpasses. Along the way we passed some of the Frontierland scenery and Heather became a little lost at the differences from Disneyland's setup.

And then it was off to the land of Tomorrow..today!

We saw stitch.. and we saw scary bad glowy face buzz...

And we rode a new fancy smancy transporation concept that moves people.. I think it was called...the Movepeopler

After a morning spent entirely in Tomorrowland we made our way back to Splash eventually, and to cool off while we were wet we visited the Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management

And since we were so proud of ourselves at holding our stomachs while watching it, we wandered over to our lunch reservations at the Crystal Palace character buffet.

Tigger outta just tie his tail to his body with duct tape so he doesn't have to hold it up away from kids trying to grab it all the time.
But at this point a Pooh-rade picked up through the tables, and when it finished we settled our check and headed back out to catch the real parade. But before we got there we noticed Mickey peaking around the tent getting ready to surprise his friends with a Dream-Along.

And then it was off to Fantasyland.

Our fastpasses for Pan came in handy. Philharmagic didn't have too much a wait as usual and we even walked in right as a show was starting. All we needed now were fastpasses for Pooh. And whatdya know, we got them. And while we waited we headed into Mickey's Toontown Fair, which isn't Toontown mind you, because that's in Anaheim of course. At this summertime fair Mickey and Minnie keep their country homes, because their real homes are in Anaheim, of course.

To get back to Pooh we had to run across a busy interstate, poor stoplight placement on Disney's part.

We ended the night on It's a Small World, which didn't turn out too well so I took more on the last night but those'll come later.

    Chicken choking intermission goodness...

    ...return to show

And then we headed out because we were still pretty tired from a lot of walking around property the day before and didn't want to exhaust ourself this early in the trip.

Next up, our first day at Epcot.

Very nice! You have some awesome photos. You captured some great facial expressions during the parade.
