    Who Remembers Mickey Shaped Butter?

We have been travelling to WDW for a good number of years now during which time we had the opportunity to enjoy many of the little "Park perks" that sadly no longer exist. Many of these were items served in park restaurants such as butter in the shape of a small Mickey standing figure, the circular shaped Mickey face butter discs, the specific park themed Kids cups that were made of solid plastic and came with a solid plastic cover, just to name a few.

Anybody else out there remember these things?

Feel free to add your own memories of any now extinct 'gratis' items, food related or otherwise. And, as always, pictures are worth a thousand words.

I'm still trying to get over the resort-specific refillable mug. But I do recall the butter

If you are ever able to go to a Disney banquet or convention you will see the Mickey butter there. It still does exsist, just not in normal guest areas.

lol... you know what I mean. It is not available in consumer guest areas. It is something that is availble through conventions, and special events.

I definitely remember the butter, it was around for a long time (until maybe 7 or 8 years ago?) I also remember getting chocolates/turndown at the Polynesian Resort - non concierge, many years ago.

And the german chocolate danishes that were at the Polynesian and Contemporary were very good!

I remember the butter. That was really magical. (I was young, so to think butter could be made in shape of Mickey was pure pixie dust!)

I remember the chocolates at the Polynesian. Some of the restaurants also used to give you chocolates with your bill...now they just give you your bill.

Yes - I believe in the past 10 years they were still giving out chocolates, and the Mickey butters at restaurants. I'm not sure when they stopped doing turndown at the deluxes - probably a long time ago.
For $300 - $500 a night, I think they should have it for everyone!

Is it just me, or does the "pat" of butter in the first picture look like it's enough butter for 10 people? LOL!

Re: Who Remembers Mickey Shaped Butter?

I remember getting the standing Mickey butter at CRT...but that was pre-digital cameras so I have no pictures to share! haha

When I was little, I loved the little free things that the CMs would give out...Mickey straws at restaurants, Mickey stickers, Mickey-shaped confetti ("pixie dust"), the co-pilot licenses on the monorail, certificates of bravery on the great movie ride. I know a lot of these things still exist but, more often than not, you need to ask or pay for them as opposed to them just being nice surprises that brighten your day.
