I'm going to WDW in August! Am I insane?

What's the weather going to be like? HOT, I know, but what about rain. Realistically, should I be afraid of hurricanes? Does anyone know what the forcasted hurricane season might be like?

Give me tips to beat the heat. I've been before in May during a heat wave, but that was in my early 20s. Something tells me I'll be less tolerant in my 30s.

It will most likely rain every day around 4pm. That's from about late May through September. Just pack ponchos and go with it. But keep in mind that many outdoor rides/attractions (especially at AK) and the water parks will close, at least temporarily, if there is lightning in the area.

For beating the heat, try things with large indoor spaces like the Land or Sea pavilions at Epcot (you can easily spend hours in them) or the Carousel of Progress and the Hall of Presidents at MK. Or even DisneyQuest at DTD.

    Thanks for the link.

Those temps don't look too bad...but then here in Utah average humidity is only 30%. So, 92 in Florida is not the same as 92 in Utah.

My rule is add about 10 degrees to the temperature listed, if you come from a dry climate.

I should be over there for a few days in August as well as I do my summer trip then for my birthday. I still need to request the time off, the I can start looking at hotels.

If you go toward the middle end of August, (like I did last year), it will be hot, but the parks could be empty. Check out my blog post under "Empty Epcot" to see photos. www.insightsandsounds.blogspot.com

This is the 4th year - it's really not a big deal. The restaurants fill up a lot, but the resorts don't.

Hot, sweaty and crowded. I said I'd never go back in Aug... but we are(ish).
The rain is awesome but it puts things to a halt!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Hot, hot & hot. We live here and never do the parks in the summer. Wear light colored clothing and drink lots of water. Get out of the sun and cool off frequently. As to hurricanes, it is hurricane season and the is unpredictable. It's been quiet the past couple of years, but one never knows when a big one will hit. Your pretty safe at Disney. If it's going to be a bad hit, they will close the parks but again you are pretty safe in the hotels. Good luck & have fun...
