    Random Off Kilter question

Back in January, I stopped to see Off Kilter play at EPCOT and I had a surprise, the usual guitarist (Randy) and keyboard player (Tony) weren't there... they had 2 other guys. I just kind of shrugged it off at the time.

Then when I went again in May, Randy & Tony were back (they both waved when they saw me), but this time Jamie & Mark were gone! They had some guy playing a fiddle instead of bagpipes and some other guy on bass. It was really odd. They didn't do a lot of the schtick Jamie & Mark to too and poor Randy had to do it all like the posing for pictures while playing and just being randomly silly.

Are these other guys "backups" for when the regular band members go on vacation or something? Just wondering.

The fiddle player was probably Jason Thomas, who is a regular substitute--usually for Jamie. It should be noted that Jason was actually born in Canada and thus quite natural that he performs by the Canadian pavilion with Off Kilter. Here's a YouTube link of Jason performing with the group. As a couple others have posted above, they do have backups for when they have scheduling conflicts and/or need to take some time off. I love watching Off Kilter whenever I'm in WDW!

    LMAO!!!

They wear bike shorts under their kilts. But the traditional way to wear one is going comando.
