    I agree wholeheartedly.

My only issue is that instead of going back to an a la carte menu as they had the first 20-25 years before it was characterized, they seem to plan on keeping the family style dining and the same price.

That is likely the first of many cutbacks/moves relating to the economy that are ahead.

If Minnie isn't going to be cooking dinner, who is? (Just joking). I think it's sad that they are going for this decision as the LTT is a favourite spot for us and we enjoy being visited by the gang. To remove the characters but not reduce the price seems a typical ploy of the present management. I could do without the Pooh breakfast though at Crystal Palacethe castle hasn't been the same since King Stefan's banqueting was done away with.

*YAY* for getting rid of character dining at Liberty Tree. Maybe this is the first step in losing all the annoying characters in ALL of the restaurants.

this is so sad. I used to work at the liberty tree tavern back in the fall of 05 and loved the characters and that is what most of the guests who ate there for dinner wanted. I know there were times were parents brough their kids and the kids were freaked out and they insisted they did not know about the characters. This will surely be a loss for the tree. I miss it over there so much!

and i see no problem why someone who wants to go to the tree without the characters, they can go during lunch. don't they still offer some sort of turkey meal than too? and there are many other places that you can go to that have no characters. There are so many at the resort.

People want quantity over quality, and WDW is more than happy to give it. In fact many restaruants are. That's why advertising for so many chain places tout the "generous portions" as opposed to the quality of the food. Either that or the "intense flavor" which comes from a heavy hand on the seasoning, masking a sub-par cut of meat.

I think you will see less and less a la cart menus and more and more buffets / family style as time goes on. It's easer on the back of the house, the front of the house, and patrons like the fact they can eat with a shovel.

Of course, the prices won't come down with this announcement.

We ate at Liberty Tree once, we didn't have the kids and had an absolute BLAST!!!

Us too! It was Halloween and the characters were sure in the mood - Chip n' Dale especially.

If there's one character meal that should go it's Cindy's over priced, low quality breakfast!

Aww, I like LTT with the characters, they really add to the atmosphere and the costumes are just too darn cute.

Eh, We ate at the Garden Grill once, I think that location can lose the characters honestly, the view is just so much better.

Completely agree! I miss the buffeteria style it once was, with better food. I've been to the buffet once, and my family all agreed with miss the pre-character buffeteria over the buffet!

As for the Garden Grille, I agree with Summer. It's a great restaurant, but the views make it worth going to, not the characters. And, don't they have the ice cream social with Chip and Dale in the afternoons? Why not just keep that and make the standard meals non character. Works for me. Unfortunately, I don't like planning meals months in advance, so I doubt I will be heading to any table service restaurants anytime soon anyway.
