That too bad that AC won't be reappearing. Glad the park isn't coming to fruition though.

It's still amazing to me how great PI was in the 1990s and how Disney's Orlando 'leadership team' has done everything in its power to kill it since then.

Consider their mission a success.
Well I think they done/did more than destroy PI.

Re: Save the ADVENTURERS CLUB at Pleasure Island!

So many fond memories of AC! It was a must see on each of my trips to WDW. Last year we went twice.

I always hoped that we would get a version of AC at the DL Resort.

Hey if they insist on closing the AC at least relocate it! To maybe the presently closed Adventureland Veranda in the MK or adjacent to the Indiana Jones Stunt Show at DHS or almost anywhere in AK!

Re: Save the ADVENTURERS CLUB at Pleasure Island!

Such sad news. AC is one of my favorite things to do at the resort.

Re: Save the ADVENTURERS CLUB at Pleasure Island!

How about the Adventurers Club as part of the new section of the Animal Kingdom Lodge or in DAK itself

Re: Save the ADVENTURERS CLUB at Pleasure Island!

Would AC fans without an AP be willing to pay for DAK's admission just to enjoy that club?

DING DING DING!

Personally I do love the Adventurer's club and the Comedy Warehouse! I love going to both after work!

That being said, sometimes you just have to accept the descions that have been made.

Yes.

But you can also let Disney know how you feel too.

especially when they turn this around and try and spin it as a guest-driven decision when we all know that's a load.

Re: Save the ADVENTURERS CLUB at Pleasure Island!

I've only been in the AC once, New Year's 2000/2001... mainly to warm up because it was FREEZING outside. And my friends & I were hungry and the dessert buffet was in there. From what I remember it was pretty interesting and the butler came over and interacted with us for a few minutes, which was hilarious. I think I'm going to have to check this thing out for real when I go back in August. It'll be my last chance!

No, you DON't have to just accept the decisions that have been made.

Remember the Save Disney Campaign, to oust Eisner.

Interesting. I never quite believed that Night Kingdom would ever come to pass, and certainly not by the "2011" date that Jim Hill insists is real. Paying 200 bucks to watch hyenas through Night-Vision goggles just doesn't interest me. Perhaps I'm not the intended demographic? Or perhaps hyenas do things at night I'm not aware of?

As for Adventurers Club, I never went myself, but I'm fascinated by how passionate people seem to be about it. Was it really that good?

The last time I was at Pleasure Island was in '95 and we didn't go into AC, and I just remember laughing hysterically at the Solid Gold dancers on the West End Stage and then laughing harder as we did the Electric Slide with rowdy drunk tourists from New Jersey counting down to Midnight.

I think that might have been the peak for Pleasure Island.

Angry Re: Save the ADVENTURERS CLUB at Pleasure Island!

We MUST save this club! It is as unique as Club 33 and just as precious. Walt himself would have loved it, and Disney needs to relocate it to one of the other parks.

Simply "asking" Disney to keep it will not work. We must take a tip from Greenpeace and PETA and become activists. A group protest held outside of the Club would make for a great press event.
