Re: Discontinued attraction you most want returned to Disneyland

My vote would need to be, as it was my favorite, is America Sings, with Natures Wonderland second. While we all miss ATIS or PPM, I don't think bringing those back would please anyone but ourselves. Please don't get me wrong! I loved these attractions but just bringing them back wouldn't work today. There would need to be all new technology which could work, but why do something they've done before. Bringing in a new version of the PPM, a mark IV version, would be great and I'm all for it. Just don't bring back something cause we all miss it.

I think if they brought back the people mover they could tie it into tron legacy. the People Mover used to have a room dedicated to the lightcycle scene. instead of a projection against the walls they could perhaps create a model futuristic city and make it look like you're riding a rail above it. it could feel like peterpan's flight in a sense. many artist concepts of futuristic cities have people movers.

if not a futuristic city then perhaps the city from tron legacy. they could use projections and the trick they used before to simulate that you're traveling faster by blowing air on you.

that way its not just the old ride we love and miss, but it's an updated version giving it more reason to be brought back.

Skyway...I loved that thing, it was so easy to get from land to land with kids and also my elderly parent when great crowds had formed for parades and such and the view was great also! I really miss it...

Re: Discontinued attraction you most want returned to Disneyland

I voted Peoplemover, but would love to see all of 'em except EO brought back -- improved to today's WDI tech standards, but kept to WED's showmanship standards (i.e. no *!&*!! smarmy WDI-style character tie-ins please!).

We miss America Sings. We're sad that it's gone! Country Bear is also sorely missed.

Re: Discontinued attraction you most want returned to Disneyland

It was a tough call between the PeopleMover and Inner Space. PeopleMover wins out because it adds to the life of the park with the PMs moving along the tracks through Tomorrowland and the edges of Fantasyland (where you can see the gold and white spires of It's A Small World). Inner Space would probably have to displace Star Tours to reclaim it's property. PeopleMover just reclaims a dead track. PeopleMover music rules.

I voted for the PM, but in reality I'd like to see them all come back.
I don't care one way or the other about Captain EO.

i wonder if Disney ever considered building a real Yesterland. It'd be themed like Mickey's storage place for old rides and such. A theater that plays all the old school stuff could conceivably show Magic Journeys one hour and EO the next. Rocket Rods could get their proper due by having a track built specifically for it. i'd go nuts for this place.

Re: Discontinued attraction you most want returned to Disneyland

That would be great, but someone proposed the same idea on one of the other Disney fan sites and the idea was shot down viciously by people there. It would be difficult to get it approved but I bet that once it was built people would love it. The biggest problem would be that all the themes would be mixed up. Tomorrowland attractions right next to Frontierland attractions, etc. Someone else proposed just a museum or movie detailing the Yesterland attractions, which would be OK but not nearly as good as actually having them for real. I think there are a few that wouldn't be worth the trouble of rebuilding though.

That could be the theme: A Disney Museum, unlike any museum ever. The actual rides are in the museum. Sure, bean counters will kill it all the day long, but i know i would be going pretty regularly if it was pulled off the right way.
