Great article, as usual, Werner. I own several of the Arcadia Publishing books and I can heartily recommend them. They're a must for anyone who is interested in local history!

I saw the dude with the handlebar mustache and thought that was Werner Weiss at first! It was like, "Wow, he looks different than he appears on MiceAge". Not that he's actually appeared, but you get a preconceived notion of what people look like based on their articles and writing styles.

Anyway, I was under the impression that all his articles were only amazing and highly fascinating looks at Disneyland Past. I want to read this so badly, but I've already got a pile of books backing up since, as a college student, I don't have time for leisure reading.

Who knows, maybe Werner Weiss will grow a handlebar mustache so as not to confuse us with pictures of the author, lol.

Thanks for the review, Werner! I will definitely be adding this title to my personal collection.

In real life I'm a librarian, and I can also attest to how great most of the Arcadia books are. Check out their site (http://www.arcadiapublishing.com/) where you can do a geographic search by zip code to find books about that area. You might just be surprised at some of the titles they've published about your own neck of the woods!

Thanks for the review, Werner! Just reading and seeing those vintage pictures has conjured up so many memories of my childhood growing up in southern LA county and north OC. I was shocked to see that I had forgotten a number of those places just by reading what you covered. I think I will have to pick up that book and reminisce about those wonderful days past. Sheesh! You'd think I was an "ol timer" or something. ;-)

Thanks again, Werner. Actually, articles like yours keeps me young at heart. And it makes me miss my loved ones who are no longer with us but I've shared being at those places with. It brings a smile to my face that I'm not the only one who feels something special about it.

Thanks, Werner. I picked up my copy from Richard, and it is indeed a nice litle book. I was surprised at the large amount of photos. Some of the old Knott's pictures are great!
