They do look a lot alike, don't they? I never really noticed that before because of the different color schemes.

However, I'm pretty sure the Big Thunder "engines" in use today don't actually provide power for the fast-moving trains (as a roller coaster, today's train is just powered by gravity). The old Mine Train, though, used a real engine that pulled the (much slower) trains for that ride.

It sure does look like the new ones were based on the old design, though. Good eye!

The bear in that picture that was taken in 2005, is sadly gone. I remember catching a glimpse of him in 2007, and recently just this July he was gone, the faux tree in place. My hope is that he is temporarily gone like the donkey and dog in POTC. Or maybe he's getting moved to Grizzly River Run!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the ride that made this train go out of service but it's still there but it's just leftovers.

Big thunder as simalair sonds then the old train train i heard the train sondtrack on youtube
