![]() | November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW Two articles today! They're closely related, so I initiated a single MiceChat thread. Why eat ordinary french fries when you can eat genuine, brand-name McDonald's French Fries at Yester World? Link to McDonald's Food at Walt Disney WorldThere are plenty of attractions sposnored by corporations at the theme parks at Yesterland and Yester World. But here’s a case of a corporation sponsoring an entire land! Link to McDonald's presents Dinoland U.S.A.Please discuss the articles here.

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW I think McDonald's fries are pretty tasty. And I've never had a problem overall with seeing sponsorships inside Disney parks. But for some reason I never much liked seeing the golden arches inside a park. It seemed to cheapen the atmosphere of the place. Plus I just can't imagine waiting in line to only get fries & a coke. Thanks for the retrospective! |

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW Thanks Werner; very interesting info. I can promise you that I would have never purchased McDonald's french fries or anything else McDonald's while inside a Disney park! I've always had the philosophy that if you can eat it at home, don't eat it on vacation-try new things! My 5 yr old however would beg to differ. |

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW I enjoy a good meal at McDonalds as well, but seeing them in the parks left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended!). Seeing something as modern and mass-produced as McDonalds just didn't feel right in, say, Frontierland. Personally, I'm glad they're now found only around the property outside the parks. Although it does seem I eat one of those practically every trip!

Those are the only two that jumped out at me, though somebody who was reading more carefully may have caught more.

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW Couldn't agree more. "Corporate alliances" such as these should never have such a bold impact on the magic. Though I will admit that the location near the All Star Resorts was a popular stop for myself after completing my workday at Animal Kingdom. Quite handy to have around.

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW I don't know it if was one of the errors that the other poster was talking about, but the Safari Amber isn't just for DAK and AKL. It's also sold at the Safari Outpost in Epcot. But other than that, I don't think you can find it anywhere else on property (and definatley not off property for that matter). |

At locations like Petrifries and Fairfax Fries, the McDonald's French Fries were essentially just branded food products, just as Coca Cola and Necafé are branded food products. Of course, Coca Cola and Necafé aren't restaurant chains. But, then again, neither are Petrifries and Fairfax Fries.

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW Thank you to everyone who helped me identify the errors in the McDonald's Food article today. I now fixed the two instances of misidentified park names and the fact that Safari Amber beer is available at Epcot. That's what I get for proofreading after midnight when I'm dead tired. If there's anything else I need to fix, please let me know.

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW I believe there are no more french fry kiosks in the parks. But there are still 2 full blown McDonald's restaurants on property - just not in the parks. |

![]() | Re: November 5, 2009: McDonald's at WDW McDonald's never belonged in a Disney park, but even if it is one of the top perfoming stores, it really shouldn't be in the Marketplace either. Granted, Disney's current vision for Downtown Disney seems to be largely just another shopping mall with 3rd-party tenants (and a limited Disney presence), but at least with T-Rex and Earl of Sandwich most people don't have one back home. I don't travel 1,400 miles to WDW to eat at McDonald's. I have somewhat less of a problem with the one near the All-Star Resort entrance, but I'd be perfectly happy if the golden arches were evicted from WDW property altogether. |
