I remember seeing this show near Hollywood and Dine back in 2001. I quite enjoyed it. In fact, I've sometimes wondered if it was just my memory playing tricks on me since there's not much info about it online.
I didn't realize the show actually made it through 2004, I had thought it was more short-lived.
I would love to see the return of CTS (though that's unlikely), especially now that Drawn to the Magic has taken over both the area in front of Disney Animation and the HPB stage. Drawn to the Magic represents a stronger Disney influence in the area, I suppose, since it's made up almost exclusively of music from Disney movies.
Chance to Shine brought to HPB one of the things that really makes Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida work, a sense of actual people (even really exaggerated ones) from that world floating around.
I can't wait to party with these girls! I hope the do-wop singers didn't lose their gig, as I'm a big fan of them as well. I'd also like to see that surfing band return, you know, the one that rolls in on the back of a custom woodie.
I'm sorry I never got the pleasure of seeing this show. Is there any video online of it?

Thanks for that - it looked like a totally fun show!
Thanks for adding this to Yesterland! It was a great show - perfect for DCA (along with Eureka - but don't get me started on that).
I once got picked to participate in the tap section and shocked the girls when I proceeded to do a REAL time step upstaging them - but they were good sports about it.
Please consider the environment before printing useless emails
I saw the girls sing on my first trip DCA and did not know it was happening and was surprised and delighted. A few years later I looked for them but they were not performing.
Thanks for the video clip too.

I had COMPLETELY forgotten about this until you posted the article, thanks for refreshing my memory.
BTW, are you planning an article for D.U.H.?

Werner,
Thanks for the great DCA Yesterland articles. I haven't checked yet, but do you have a page for the Route 66 group that used to sing near Condor Flats? I think that's what the name was.

You might be thinking of Groove 66, an a cappella group that performed at DCA around the same period of time as Chance to Shine.
They now perform in Southern California under the name Vybration.
I have no current plans to add Groove 66 to the Yesterland website. I might change my mind if somebody can provide a series of photos of Groove 66 performing.

Ian Parkinson put a terrific video of Chance to Shine onto YouTube. It's a shorter video than the other one in this thread, but the picture quality and sound quality are much better. You can even understand the lyrics.
Take a look. It's 2 1/2 minutes well spent.
