November 12, 2010: Real Buildings that Inspired Universal Studios Florida

Three years ago, I began a series of articles about “Real Buildings that Inspired Disney-MGM Studios.” I followed up with “Real Buildings that Inspired Disney’s California Adventure.” Universal Studios Florida also has an idealized Hollywood based on actual buildings.

    Please discuss it here.

Great article. Just love this stuff. At least Universal made it a bit easier by leaving the name of the original building on the facade. More please.

Interesting again on the old Buildings in Hollywood Today & copied in theme parks.

I enjoy doing these articles about theme park façades "inspired by real buildings." The theme park designers do such a good job capturing features of the original structures.

I'm planning additional articles about Disney's Hollywood Studios, with more comparisons to real buildings.

My thanks to Chris Bales for the great Hollywood photos!
