    June 19, 2012: Citrus Tower

Paris has the Eiffel Tower. Seattle has the Space Needle. And Clermont, Florida has the Citrus Tower. Sure, the Citrus Tower is less famous than the other two—but it’s also much less crowded.

    Please discuss it here.

If indeed you do go back to Clermont next year make sure to check out the Lake Minneola Tiki Bar. Its an amazing piece of old Florida and the burgers are amazing.

    Very nice article.

In my opinion, the US needs to get stricter on what is allowed to be built considering our naturalistic landscape is getting smaller and smaller. Natural land needs to be preserved and anything that does get built should have high aesthetic value.

So upset to see the groves replaced by a Friendly's.

Nice article! I love your "now and then" pieces. I have never been to the tower (nor had heard of it till reading this piece.) Amazing to see such striking changes in 20 years. Florida sure has grown.

Looks like Chevron not only stopped sponsoring Autopia, they've sense stopped sponsoring that Gas station below the tower!

Thank you for a great article. I might have to schedule a trip out there with my family to check it out.

I work underneath the tower, daily. Nice to see an article about it.

I had no idea that a MiceChat Moderator worked underneath the Citrus Tower. Wow!
