    ***1980 Family trip pics***

Found some old photo's from a very early 80's trip to Disneyland. Scanned some in so you can laugh at them with me. I was 4 or 5 at the time. Enjoy.

my older brother and sister with Captain Hook.

    Classic...

    Check out that style.

not sure where this photo was taken?

I can't wait to make fun of my twin brother for the hat(although I probably had one....being a twin and all). I remember those jackets too. The sleeves zipped off to make a vest.

    a couple years later....

    the old parking lot..

Those were the days. we used to drive to Disneyland from the Bay Area in our '76 Honda Hatchback with 6 of us. Not really sure how that worked with seating. Later they got a '80 two-tone brown Volkswagen Vanagon. I am convinced my parents bought the ugliest cars as an inside joke for when we drove them years later. we drove that van till it died. An ugly but fun car....for those days.

I especially love the one with the old parking lot. It never, in a million years, would have occurred to me to take a picture of the old parking lots, but now, I love to go to DCA and tell my kids, "when daddy was your age, this was the parking lot" etc., etc.

Stupid as this is, one of my favorite memories of Disneyland was when I was in college and sprained my ankle, and got a temporary handicapped parking decal that let me park right next to the entrance to Disneyland. But then I had to hobble all over the place with my crutches, because I didn't want to use a wheelchair.

I loved looking at all those old photos!!! My favorite has to be the parking lot...(as strange as that may sound) To me the parking lot was first thing of the trip and just the thought that I was at Disneyland! Yayyyy!!!

    Thanks for sharing!!!

Isn't that the old Capt. Hook ship that used to be in Fantasyland? (currently where Dumbo is...I think!)

I'm guessing that's NOS because they have a band playing to the right.

it's either New Orleans Square or Main Street. My first instinct said Main Street, but now I'm thinking over in New Orleans Square.

Yeah I'm scratching my previous guess and saying it's Main Street and the opening behind the band is where the lockers are. They are at the restaurant (sorry can't remember the name) across the street. Anybody else? Oh yeah, sorry, awesome pictures!

I'm surprised no one has commented on the unlimited passport!
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. Sort of like "Where's Waldo". Find the nun in this picture.

Thank you Duck44 for these wonderful vintage photos. Those are the years I have my best early memories of as well.
