Found some old photo's from a very early 80's trip to Disneyland. Scanned some in so you can laugh at them with me. I was 4 or 5 at the time. Enjoy.
my older brother and sister with Captain Hook.
Check out that style.
not sure where this photo was taken?
I can't wait to make fun of my twin brother for the hat(although I probably had one....being a twin and all). I remember those jackets too. The sleeves zipped off to make a vest.
a couple years later....
the old parking lot..
Those were the days. we used to drive to Disneyland from the Bay Area in our '76 Honda Hatchback with 6 of us. Not really sure how that worked with seating. Later they got a '80 two-tone brown Volkswagen Vanagon. I am convinced my parents bought the ugliest cars as an inside joke for when we drove them years later. we drove that van till it died. An ugly but fun car....for those days.
1980 was a good year for Disneyland (the 25th Anniversary!). I especially remember the 25th Anniversary Parade with the New Mousketeers riding on individual "New Mouse Ears" floats. I was so excited when Shawnte Northcutte actually waved at me!
Nothing says "honeymoon" quite like a photo of the blushing bride scowling in a yellow rain poncho in front of a billboard in the middle of a rainstorm..... Hallmark is seriously overlooking a prime market.
Now that she knows me better she scowl's more often
Love the 80's shots. Definitely a time I'm familiar with. Interesting how wide the tires are on the Autopia cars. I vaguely remember that. Thanks.

Aww, sailerm, your wife is standing in front of a Fantasmic ad, when Fantasmic was still going to be called "Imagination". That's one nifty piece of DL trivia you've got there.
And Duck44, I love the pictures of your family in Fantasyland, and you can see the medieval faire style of the ride exteriors before the redo.
Nifty, nifty stuff. Maybe when I get my scanner hooked up, I'll post some pics, too. Thanks for sharing.
Oh man, I got chills just looking at these! I remember all of these. For the pic of the first group that you don't know where it was taken, look at the last batch. The pic with all the kids and your mom, standing in the middle of Main St, that was where the other pic was, except the shot was from the left side going across the street.
I love the one of the walkway to Disneyland. How I used to love that section, it meant we WERE THERE!!!
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.
this photo has so many memories. Inner Space used to be my favorite ride.
I love that you have a photo of this ride because it is one of my first distinct memories of the park. Years later I was trying to describe it to my family and they all looked at me like I was a loon I remember watching the little people "shrink" while you waited in line and could not wait to see what it was like!
Awesome photos all the way. Thanks for sharing, you are inspiring me to dig out some of my old trip photos and post them!
