    Music of Yesterland

Are there any specific musical loops that use to play at Disneyland that you loved now don't play in the parks anymore? What extinct Disney attractions had songs that you enjoyed listening too? And what magical Disney street bands, quartets, etc., that now exist in Yesterland, did you enjoy listening to?

And also the 6 CD set "A Musical History of Disneyland" .

I don't like the Rainbow Caverns stuff though when it comes to Mine Train Through Natures Wonderland. I do enjoy listening to, over and over, the CircleVision "America The Beautiful" track.

I also love playing all the Country Bear Tracks.

I think the woman who sang "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" for Teddi Berra has a wonderful voice!

I was really disappointed that the Peoplemover music was listed, but the Monorail song was actually on that track. It would've been wonderful to hear that relaxing 1970's Peoplemover tune!

The Disney music always had away of bringing back memories of Disneyland for me. That is what got me started in collecting the Disney vinyl.

Now it is the 50th anniversary of Disneyland Records (WDR) and we are going to celebrate it here in Seattle next month with the opening of a year long exhibit at the Experience Music Project (EMP).

To kick it off, the EMP and the MountainEars chapter of the National Fantasy Fan Club (NFFC) are hosting a 3 day Disney Music Convention Nov 3-5.

After getting to listen to the Musical History of Disneyland set, I really liked Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow and the County Bear Vacation Hoedown (the regular Jamboree was good, but I preferred the Vacation track)

I like listening to certain portions of "America the Beautiful" like "Fish of the Sea," "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "Get Along Ye Li'l Doggies," etc.

I love listening to the Peoplemover background loop that I recorded in 1991. It brings back so many memories

I did not realize how much the sounds of Disneyland can bring back memories but after tuning into www.uabmagic.com I became an instant addict. I vaguely remember Adventures through Inner Space but listening to the entire attraction is just a hoot. The subs were one of my all time favorites as a kid but I could not remember the entire script so hearing it again was incredible. I love hearing tracks from The Carousel of Progress, background music for the Peoplemovers, and Tahitian Terrace dinner music since I don't remember (or did not ever get to experience) these attractions. Disneyland is so attentive to detail and their music is no exception.

Oh, I agree with you! I loved that music and thought the dioramas were so cool. It broke my heart when I found out I would never get to do the walk through again. I wish I would have taken photos but I think I may have some old video somewhere that I will have to try to dig up some day. Until then, I am with princedalton and would really appreciate anyone else posting their photos.

PS - you have inspired me and I just requested the walk-through medley from the Utilidor's site. Now if I only had the dioramas to go with it I could have my own little show in my cube!

I like the sounds from The Frito Kid vending machine at Casa de Fritos; the Kid calling to Klondike for another bag of Fritos, set to that bouncy little samba.

The REAL Peoplemover music (not the Goodyear theme or the monorail song) is a great set too. Only wish I could find a clean set of all of them (I think there are ten or eleven songs).

    Re: Music of Yesterland

This is a newer entry, but I already miss the Dick Dale soundtrack from Space Mountain.

Hehe... the people mover music plays whenever i turn on my computer so I can't say I miss it all that much, but i do miss it in the park.

And this is a weird one, but I totally miss the MAGIC KINGDOM CORP. Don't know if you ever caught this small group of drum & bugle musicians. They'd march around and play disney songs (and others) with all the brass glory you can want. sigh, they got cut when the Pressler regime started and they decided that live music wasn't worth spending on. Other musicians have returned now, but I still haven't seen or heard the magic kingdom corp presence in years.
