Cool Matterhorn pic on yesterland

I was browsing through the yesterland site, and I noticed that in the Monorail section there is a very cool old pic of the Matterhorn that shows the waterfalls before they were sealed from the tracks. Its very similar to the pictures in the e-ticket covering the ride.

Wow, that is pretty cool. I think it looks very cool unsealed and think that if they would have left the waterfall out it would have added even more to this area. I love the Matterhorn and wish they would do more with the atmosphere around this ride. I recall the wind noise being very noticeable on a trip in 1998 but never did hear it on my trip last Christmas. It also has numerous options for fun theming in the queue but they have kept it quite plain. For such a great ride I think they need to focus more attention on it.

Those are great pictures. In looking at the monorail one just above the Matterhorn, I'm impressed by how bare it looked. It's amazing now how huge the trees have grown, and how that whole area filled in!

Might I say that these photos are 'gorgeous'. Sounds silly to type that, but they really are. It's Tomorrowland when it was clean, wide and open and something was happening everywhere!

Yah, and I just love that old Monorail design. It would be so cool to get solid colored monorails again.
