This photo was taken by my dad in 1967, on my first trip to DL. My mom died shortly after this, so, this photo is VERY cherished. I've had it in a frame most of my life.

What a beautiful picture and memory, Janine. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
My first visits to Disneyland were in the 1961-1962 range ... my first memorable visit, with my 11-year old "sweetheart", a one month "older" woman, was also in 1967, not long after the opening of Pirates and New Orleans Square.

Very cool picture! Thanks for sharing.
Interesting, no black railing in the background.
1st Amendment-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Thats what I though, how cool must it have been to just be able to walk right up to it! He was a much scarier looking whale back then!
Thank you for sharing this pic. I have yet to find any of our old Disneyland pics from when I was a child, although I know there must be some.
A little piece of heaven
His teeth are more sharp back then. I did notice that by looking at more recent photos.
Your mom looks like one classy lady.
Thanks for sharing. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. But what a wonderful memory![]()

Thanks for the memories.....looks almost like myself and my Mom way back when!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,it's what they are like in their HEART!
