    Cool Blast To The Past

    Good day Yesterland folks!

I am looking for some info. I have just come across the audio of the parade that rand during Disneyland's "Blast To The Past" back in the 1980's. I have found some info as to some of the acts that played at Disneyland during that time. However I am wondering if anyone has the ability to come up with a definitive list.

Reason I ask is that I want to produce a radio show in memory of this awesome promotion. Along with the Parade audio I want to play the artists and bands that played during the festival.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I think I saw a DVD on Blast to the Past at Extinct Attractions Club (www.extinctattractions.com).

    Re: Blast To The Past

Regulars in the 1988 promotion included
    Danny and the Dappers
    The Knudsen Brothers
    The Alley Cats
    Fratelli Bologna
    The Polka Dots

In 1989, some of the special acts included:
    Paul Revere and the Raiders
    Herman's Hermits
    The Turtles
    The Spinners
    Little Anthony May 13-14, 1989;
Ray Brewster & The Hollywood Flames May 15-19, 1989
    Fabian June 3-4, 1989

If I didn't include a date, it's because I don't actually have the Today in Disneyland brochure for those performances.

Blast to the Past, for whatever it's worth, remains my favorite Disney promotion ever. I ever watched the parades for that one. Between the prizes, the music, and the fun of having one of my first passes to the park (oh, and me being in the middle of the best years of my life), it truly was a blast.

I liked it too. I had just graduated from high school the year before and visited a few times during the promotion. On one trip I won a frisbee, and the other a Duncan yoyo with the BTTP logo. As I recall, McDonald's did a promotion where you could win prizes on peel off tickets on the drink cups. Twice I got "Purchase a ticket to Disneyland for..." and I think it was $5.99. (Tickets were somewhere around $25 at the time. )
