The Yesterland article about the ABC's of ticketing got me thinking....

In the old days of ticket booths, the park needed to keep up with demand from customers... Multiple attractions that kept guests busy. Once they ran out of rides they wanted to go on, they'd probably go home and stop buying ticket books. But by the sheer number of attractions offered, there were so many things to see that most visitors could stay all day if they so desired.

What is the incentive now, with the All Day passports, to keep open attractions that don't promote a Disney movie or aren't the flavor of the month.

That change to unlimited rides for a single admission price really changed the dynamics of what Disneyland operations need to do to keep guests happy and busy. The trend is now for only adding "big ticket" or "E ticket" rides with long waits, and the overall trend is longer queues than in the days of ticket books.
