Astounding Disneyland Footage from 1961-62

Lengthy clips from a forgotten Tony Curtis/Suzanne Pleshette movie (40 Pounds of Trouble) with a long segment filmed at Disneyland in 1961-62. It's virtually an entire tour of the park, professionally filmed to Hollywood standards.

Lots of RARE footage with things like: an on-board bobsled ride, interior clips of the original Snow White and Toad darkrides (!), and plenty of extinct attractions.

It's Yesterland heaven and it goes on for a hefty 15 minutes or so.

That was fantastic, I loved seeing the colored horses on the carrousel and the indians in Frontierland!

Dig those old Autopia cars.

And did you see the very official, very public sign in Frontierland that says "Tom Sawyer's Island"?

Hah. Another Disneysnob factoid bites the dust.

I love how when the exit the monorail, they have a grand overhead view of, Main Street :lol:

That was fun to watch!

Interesting how the inner workings of Mr Toad looks so much different.

Not too mention that actors were dropped off by the Monorail on Main St. (No one is going to miss that. );)

Ohh I missed seeing that sign (I was quite overwhelmed, Ill need to go back and watch that again!

I did love how the monorail dropped them off at main street, and what was with all the honking noises in tomorrowland? Also, in the background I saw a huge mad hatters hat, I woudl love to see the front of that character.

I miss the old Mr. Toad, its never been the same for me since they changed it.

I love the prototype of the annual passholder before they even existed "stop that raft!" "another one will be along any minute sir" then the guy gives up and goes to the power boat and impersonates a cop!

Yes, LOTS of amusing liberties taken with actual DL geography and park practices for the sake of the movie.

I remember the skeleton with extending head from the old Snow White ride very well, and it was fun to see the old cauldron witch scene again, and hear snips of the old soundtrack. Fans of the original darkrides pretty much despair of ever seeing actual film footage from those, so these little clips are a rare treat indeed.

I love the scenes of TC running through the Indian village and Mine Train. Madcap!

This was awesome! Thanks for sharing. I'll be watching this again and again.
What I though funny was how they were able to just jump right back on the Mattherhorn bobsleds!

Not unlike when the Brady Bunch went to King's Island, found the lost blueprints on a ride close to "International Street," then proceeded to run around relay-style AWAY from the front entrance where they eventually end up.

Or in Planet of The Apes, when Charton Heston and crew splash down what appears to be a Utah river/lake, walk all the way to Calabasas to meet up with the Apes, then he rides a horse along the coastline all the way to NYC.

The little girl's reactions to things brought me back to a recent visit with another little girl I know. Pretty funny.
