As you may already know, Universal Studios Hollywood had a
major fire on their backlot Sunday morning. The area where the
New York Streets and King Kong show building
were located burned to the ground, as did an adjacent video
storage facility. Much of Courthouse Square also went up.
Last year I took a VIP tour of the park and studios which
allowed us to walk around many backlot areas the standard tour
trams normally only drive through. As a result I was able to
photograph in detail many of the outdoor street sets.
With this major portion of the backlot destroyed, I thought a
photo tour of the area as it appeared before the fire would be a
good idea today.
Courthouse Square (more recently made famous by the Back to the
Future films) has been in use for the Ghost
Whisperer.


The buildings in the above photo and the Courthouse facade
(shown below) are still standing, but
fire damaged.
