No Toys for Tots?

Disneyland’s Toys For Tots Marine Corps charity drive was a bust this year. Historically the Marines would set up collection bins at the entrance to Disneyland’s employee Christmas party and every party guest was instructed to bring a toy. The toys poured in by the thousands on those party nights, and the Marines could count on the Cast Members to donate in a big way. With the employee parties cancelled this year, TDA convinced the Marines to show up anyway last week to collect toys at backstage CM entrances but the result was abysmal. Instead of thousands of toys, they were only counting toys by the dozens. A silent protest from an understandably upset Cast Member community, and the executives who cancelled the parties should make it up to the Marines by donating corporate cash instead. – Al Lutz
