We are more than halfway through May and with June on the horizon, two special occasions are now setting off my “gifting alert,” Father’s Day and Graduation Day. If you are stumped on what to buy for either of these holidays for the Disney lover in your life, my gift guide, featuring items from shopDisney, Funko, and Loungefly, is here to lend a helping hand. Let’s take a look!

Father’s Day Gifts

June 19 is Father’s Day so there is still time to order these gifts to celebrate Dad:

Darth Vader might not be the best father figure but he can make a mean cup of Joe. This Star Wars-themed coffee maker can use either capsule (like Keurig) or ground coffee to make your desired morning brew. And it includes a matching steel travel mug with a lid, decorated with Darth Vader’s silhouette.

My Dad is enamored with his Apple Watch and I am sure mine isn’t the only one. If your Dad loves his timepiece as well (or needs one – bundle it with this for a super gift), help him add a little character and variety to his watch with this Micke Mouse Sketch Art adjustable watchband. It can easily be installed without any tools and comes in two sizes, Small and Large. The Small size band is compatible with all 38mm, 40mm, and 41mm Apple Watch models. The large will fit all 42mm, 44mm, and 45mm Apple Watch models.

Help Dad lounge around in comfort (and style) with these Marvel Logo Jogger Pants. It’s lined with a soft terry fabric, which is perfect for when you want to be cozier on those June Gloom mornings. The pants’ print is covered with the Marvel logo with different Avengers superimposed on them. These come in sizes from XS to 3XL.

To paraphrase Walt Disney, Adults, including fathers, are just kids grown up. And what Star Wars-loving kid-turned-adult wouldn’t love to own these designer toys? As part of the Star Wars Bandai Meisho Movie Realization Series, C-3PO, Kylo Ren, and Captain Phasma are reimagined by artist Takayuki Takeya in a style that blends the Japanese aesthetic with the original character designs. Each figure comes with different accessories and features an impressive number of points of articulation (arms, elbows, knees, ankles, legs, torso, and neck – along with the mouth for C-3PO). And parts of their outfits are made of fabric, adding an additional level of detail.

Funko

Give Dad the gift of playtime together with this Marvel-themed Funkoverse Strategy Game. It features four Funko Pop! figures of Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther, created exclusively for the board game (with a chance of a chase variant of Black Panther as well). And if you have other Funkoverse Strategy Games, you can combine them with this one.

For a primer on the gameplay, here is Funko’s How-To video:

For something more budget-friendly but still thoughtful, I would suggest this Popsies Iron Man figure. Pressing the button hidden in the center of the gift box’s bow causes two messages to pop up around the Iron Man figure. The first and most important message appears as a talk bubble above the superhero and says “You are the real superhero!” The second message pops up by his feet and reads “Nuts about you,” surrounded by images of nuts and bolts.

Little Grogu takes the form of a bobblehead. But, he’s not just your standard bobblehead. He also emits lights and sounds when the button on the front of the base is pressed. The figure stands (sits?) at 4 and 3/4-inches tall.

Gifts for the Graduating Class 2022

Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten the grads. Here are some gift ideas to help mark their momentous achievement:

shopDisney

This elegant accessory is a thoughtful gift for an Alex and Ani collector or even just a person who appreciates the sparklier things in life. Dangling from an expandable goldtone bangle are several different charms, the most notable of which are a dated graduation cap encrusted with a Preciosa Crystal (within a Hidden Mickey) and a Mickey Mouse silhouette. This piece comes packaged in a collector’s box.

If you are looking for a little something special that features a classic Disney character, look no further than this Donald Duck limited edition pin. Donald is dressed in a cap and gown, holding a diploma of his own, in front of a confetti-strewn backdrop. “2022 Graduation!” is written in glitter-embedded lettering. And while you can trade this pin at the Disney Parks, I can’t imagine ever wanting to.

Stitch apparently wants to get in on the festivities, too. And he’s dressed for the occasion in his own cap and gown with a little (felt) diploma. Let him reward your graduate with the many congratulatory cuddles they deserve. Standing 11-inches tall, this Stitch plush is a great height to sit proudly from a bookshelf or bedstand.

Encourage your graduate to continue to dream of future endeavors with Disney Legend Marty Sklar’s autobiographical account of his career at the Walt Disney Company. From crafting Walt Disney’s speeches to promoting the ideals behind Walt Disney World and Epcot to his time as president and principal creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, Marty Sklar has worn many different hats. And it is all detailed in this 384-page book, further enhanced with introductions from Ray Bradbury and Richard M. Sherman.

Funko and Loungefly

This Funko Pop! figure of Iron Man is made of die-cast metal (compared to the usual vinyl plastic) and packaged in a clear box, allowing for a complete view of the figure without taking it out of the box. It would be an extra-special gift for any Funko collector.

After so many years of hitting the books, why not gift your graduate a more fashionable variety? This versatile accessory can be converted from a crossbody to a backpack by swapping the location of adjustable, removable straps. Alice-themed art decorates the outside of both styles. The crossbody looks like a closed book and a backpack has the book open with illustrated “pages.” The lining is decorated with silhouettes of different Wonderland citizens., Shopping Alert: Dads & Grads Disney Gift Guide 2022, Shopping Alert: Dads & Grads Disney Gift Guide 2022 , Shopping Alert: Dads & Grads Disney Gift Guide 2022 , Shopping Alert: Dads & Grads Disney Gift Guide 2022

Winnie the Pooh and his friends are in a party mood! This Mini Backpack, created to mark the character’s 95th anniversary in 2021 (yes, it is one year later but the theming is too perfect to pass up), includes three zippered pockets, each with a different character on them which creates the image of Pooh and Piglet riding on Eeyore. On the back is Tigger banging happily on a parade drum and the message “Hooray for you, Hooray for me!” which is a perfect sentiment for someone who just graduated. The lining is full of Pooh and the other Hundred Acre Wood residents along with pots of honey marked with a “95 Years” icon on them.

If you think your grad would prefer a Pixar-themed accessory instead, it is hard to beat this Pizza Planet Truck Mini Backpack. Straight out of Toy Story (and cameos in later Pixar films), this detailed bag features both glow-in-the-dark (the rocket on top) and LED (the truck’s lights) details along with die-cut applique bumpers (with bumper sticker) and license plate). Hidden on the backside are Woody and Buzz attempting to camouflage themselves with Pizza Planet food wrappers (similar art also lines the inside).
