It was a week of tremendous change and announcements. Today is the last day for Disneyland President, Ed Grier, his replacement still hasn't been announced. Universal Studios ousted their two top bosses. And perhaps the biggest news was the sale of Busch Entertainment (Sea World, Busch Gardens, and a total of 10 family entertainment locations across the United States), to Equity firm, Blackstone - which already owns Legoland, Madame Tussauds, Merlin Entertainment, and a 50% stake in the Universal Orlando parks. Change has also come to Downtown Disney in Anaheim California with the addition of a new shop, Ridemakerz, and a newly expanded Little Miss Missmatched. In the park, progress on returning the magic to the Magic Shop, Princess and the Frog promotion and more. Join us for news, photos, and commentary from Disneyland and Southern California attractions in today's In the Parks Theme Park Blog.

The boards have been buzzing about cash registers moving into the Court Des Angles in New Orleans Square this holiday season. Andy swoops in to archive the quiet beauty of this spot before it becomes another merchandise location.
He also has news of the relocation of the Three Fairies shop in Fantasyland, construction at Department 56 in Downtown Disney, and refurbishment of the water playgrounds at California Adventure (right in the middle of the hot Summer).

Disney has announced that it plans to close six clubs at Walt Disney World's Pleasure Island (located in the middle of Downtown Disney) after September 27, 2008. [1]
Raglan Road and merchandise locations will remain open but, BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, 8Trax, Motion, Comedy Warehouse, and the Adventurer's Club will close. Pleasure Island was an early success but has been struggling to maintain its popularity in recent years.
The bulk of the complaints from the internet community will likely revolve around the unique Adventurers Club, which gained a cult following due to its interactive theatricality, detailed interior design, and upbeat comedy.
We'd love to hear your thoughts about the closure of your favorite clubs. We will also forward your comments regarding the Adventurers Club to concerned parties at the Disney company and in the media. Please share your memories of the Adventurers Club and why you'd like to see it remain open at the comments link below.
