Fantasmic! finally premiered its new dragon and although she didn't initially set the night "ablaze" as promised, she was fixed by her second performance and is currently delighting crowds. The dragon was nearly eclipsed by the news that Disney bought Marvel Comics, and everyone wants to know what this will mean for the Disney parks and for Universal's parks which already use Marvel characters in some of their locations. This week promises even more breaking news as D23 launches their very first fan Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center next to Disneyland. And as always, the Dateline Disneyland update is packed with news and photos from around the Disneyland resort. So get ready to see what's up with hotel and theme park construction, that new building going up in Fantasyland, the new restaurant in California Adventure, Halloween Time, and much, much more.

The MiceChat Weekly Round Up is here and it's been fortified with dozens of the week's top Disney news, rumors, pictures, and discussions - NOW improved with 100% more dragon in every bite. What a week it was folks. A dragon false start on Monday, followed by news that Disney had purchased Marvel Entertainment (Spiderman, Hulk, et al), and then last night the long delayed Fantasmic dragon landed and briefly took MiceChat with it. Over the course of the evening, more people visited the pages of MiceChat than were actually sitting around the edge of the Rivers of America to watch the actual dragon. It was amazing - but there were still issues which you'll hear about in the links attached. But the dragon wasn't the only news this week (though it may seem that way) the Round Up is packed full of all sorts of Disney stories and news from around the world. It's a really good week to be a Disney fan, don't miss out on this week's juicy update!

This morning's Fantasmic dragon press event was canceled at the last minute - perhaps because of the fires in LA and perhaps because of little interest from the media. However, video has leaked out online. We'll attempt to update you on what this means for tonight's performances of the show if possible. However, the dragon may be held until another press event can be scheduled. Also, we have lots of news, photos, and updates from the resort. Halloween is quickly being added to the stores and window displays. Grand Californian construction is nearly complete and we've got the photos. New construction in Fantasyland near Fantasia Gardens. And much, much more.

Al Lutz is back with another of his famous Disneyland updates and this is an amazing one. The eye-popping news is that Captain EO may temporarily return to the Magic Eye Theater in Tomorrowland, replacing the lackluster Honey I Shrunk The Audience, during the Halloween season. Fans and visitors alike will also be thrilled to hear that Jack Skellington's ghost dog Zero will fly the high wire during the evening fireworks this Halloween as well. And plans are developing to significantly raise the cost of annual passes due to the overwhelming crowds that the 800,000 member program generates. All this and news regarding Fantasmic's most unfortunate dragon in today's update!

Disneyland's highly promoted Nightastic entertainment launched to the public on Friday with some hits and some notable misses. The dragon seen on TV commercials and billboards all over LA was no where to be seen (as was reported in advance by Al Lutz on MiceAge). Also, not to be seen on Friday was Dumbo. The highlight of the new "Magical" fireworks didn't make his leap on opening night, but he jumped as planned on Saturday. Andy helps you fill in the gaps with gorgeous photos of the Electrical Parade, Pixie Hollow's enchantment, and construction throughout the resort. News, photos, commentary, and more in today's update!

The In the Parks Theme Park Blog fills you in on everything that is new at Disneyland and beyond. Today marks the start of Disneyland's Summer events. "Nightasmic" launches with a revised Fantasmic and Electrical Parade, enhanced Pixie Hollow, and new Fireworks. But beware, Fantasmic will not be operating on a full tank as its highly marketed new dragon is broken and will not be performing until later this summer. In addition, a race in the Anaheim area promises to tie up traffic this weekend. If you are looking for activities outside of the parks, David fills you in on some interesting (and stinky) options. Happy Summer everyone!
