Samland – 147ft of fun or: Why I LOVE the Matterhorn

What’s 147ft tall, sprinkled in snow and filled with steel?  Disneyland’s Matterhorn, which was opened on June 14th, 1959, was a landmark attraction.  It was the first steel tube coaster and designed to simulate the feel of a wild toboggan ride down an icy course.  But why is this one of Sam’s favorite rides?  Read as he explains how it came into existence and why this is such a special part of Disney history.
