It has been just a week since the last Dateline Disneyland blog post and already there is a huge new update filled with information from Disneyland and California Adventure. The Food and Wine Festival at Disney’s California Adventure opened to big crowds on Friday and remained busy throughout the weekend. Andy Castro documents all of the features and changes to this year’s festival. Nearby, the Sun Wheel has completed its transformation into Mickey’s Fun Wheel, but the horrid concrete queue and ugly canvas shade structure remain. Over at Disneyland, there are lots of new construction walls. The Cosmic Waves fountain is in the process of being removed with the giant marble ball apparently remaining. Pixie Hollow has construction walls, as do parts of Frontierland. We also learn that Disney’s most senior Imagineer is about to step aside after having participated in the opening of every single Disney park. And finally, we read all about Disney’s big Summer marketing campaign awkwardly titled “Nightastic.”

Does anyone have any idea for the first weekend of June 5-7th? The entertainment schedule shows no fireworks? Is it possible that they would end RDCT the weekend before and start Magical then weekend after and have nothing the weekend I am coming in from KC? How disturbing!

That is highly possible KCMIKE. It is also possible that there may be previews of the new show that weekend. I’m sure we’ll hear more about the fireworks schedule very soon.
