Disney has two fun new additions at their Animal Kingdom resort this summer: Donald’s Dino Bash & Up! A Great Bird Adventure. We had a chance to check out both of these engagements and share with you below.

Up! A Great Bird Adventure

The Great Bird Adventure, which replaces Flights of Wonder, is a new show staring character’s from the hit Pixar film UP. New characters also interact with a Lead Wilderness Explorer to show us the majestic birds and teach us a few things about our feathered friends.

My favorite part of the show was meeting this Spectacled Owl after the show because I’m a bit of a collector of glasses. This owl knows my brand.

The show runs throughout the day and includes some minor audience participation if you sit at the ends of the aisles!

Donald’s Dino Bash

There’s a new party in Dinoland hosted by Donald Duck. They do say that birds evolved from Dinos. . .

There are party banners everywhere, a dance party with live DJ where you’re invited to “shake your tail feathers”; and newly remodeled meet and greet areas for 7 Dino Bash themed characters.

There’s Donald himself, donned in his practically prehistoric dino attire – Seen here with dino themed Daisy. She’ll usually be in her own fashionable area, Daisy’s Designs… but due to rain, joined Donald the day I shot these photos. So if there’s inclement weather, you’ll know where to find her!

You’ll find Chip and Dale, who are in disguise because they were NOT invited! Gasp! Hiding in plain sight among the Dinoland USA regulars. STOWAWAYS! Don’t let Donald know!

Launchpad McQuack meet and greet. Whatever you do, don’t say BLABBERIN BLATHERSKITE!

There’s also Goofy, Pluto, and Scrooge McDuck around here to celebrate the Dino-Bash!

Here’s a bit of video that Disney posted which gives you a flavor of Donald’s Dino-Bash:

DinoBash doesn’t fix the issues that some have with Dinoland, but it’s a simple and fun enhancement that kids and parents should enjoy. A little extra fun never hurts.

Both of these Incredible Summer additions are quite welcome. Adding a total of 9 characters to areas that didn’t have them before.

These offerings are all part of Walt Disney World’s Incredibles Summer. Other offerings include:

Tomorrowland will also be decked out with Incredibles décor and sounds from the film. Guests can also enjoy a “SUPER” dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage.

The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live at Epcot –  Star-Lord and Gamora from “Guardians of the Galaxy” will take guests on a musical journey through the cosmos in The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! concert series. Shows will feature tunes from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mixtapes, the two movie soundtracks. The group will take the stage five times daily, through Aug. 19.

H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon –  The water park will transform on select evenings June 21-Aug. 11, when a glow party takes over the park from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. Tickets go sale March 19 and are $55 per person plus tax for adults and $50 per person plus tax for children ages 3-9. Toy Story Land Opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios June 30 – Of course the main event of Incredible Summer is the opening of a whole new land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This new 11-acre land will shrink guests to the size of a toy and allow them to explore the fun and adventure of Andy’s backyard. There will be two new attractions: Slinky Dog Dash coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers. Woody’s Lunch Box is a new quick-service restaurant.

I’ll be back shortly with more info on some of these other Incredible Summer offerings.  Until then, you can shake a tail feather with Donald and friends. See you soon!
