Hello, and welcome to Dateline Universal Orlando! This week, I was able to check out Universal Orlando’s new Aventura Hotel. I was really surprised by this new hotel, let’s take a look . . .
Welcome to Universal’s Aventura Hotel! The building is beautiful and modern in its design.
Quite the view to pull up to.
Representatives from Universal and Loews Hotels were on site to welcome us and discuss the new property. This is the sixth hotel on Universal Orlando property, with Endless Summer already under construction. By the time that opens, Universal will have close to 9,000 rooms on property.
Time to head in!Check-in area. There is a bar right on the ground level.
They also have a Starbucks, just like all of the hotels on property.Modern seating areas. They have a sushi bar in the food court!
Fancy burgers as well.Shrimp dishes from the other area.Baked Salmon Pizza. All the food items we tried were delicious.Seating area in the food court.Heading outside, there is a fire pit next to the pool.Pool views.
Seating near the pool and poolside bar.
The Sol Bar is on the ground level right next to the pool.We sampled a frozen Mule there, and it was refreshing!Splash pad area.Lots and lots of beach chairs.
We then headed upstairs where members from Universal Creative showed off some of the guest rooms. These next few photos are all from a deluxe room.Views. Get an upper floor if you can.
Plugs and USB ports are in every room.Speakers for music as well.Floor to ceiling glass windows in every single room at the resort. TV mounted on the ceiling to get it up and out of the way.
This is the layout of a standard room. Notice the iPad in the middle. It controls the room temperature, room service, weather forecasts, etc.
This is the master room of the family suites.Family suites have a seating area with a television in addition to the one large bed and two smaller beds.We then headed up to the top floor for Bar 17 Bistro.
The views from this bar are nothing short of spectacular. We can’t wait to see them at sunset.
Hogwarts on the left hand side of this photo.Islands of Adventure all lit up.
Comfy seats everywhere at the bar. They even have local beer! That Bowigens tap is from a brewery north of Orlando, about 25 minutes from Universal.
They also have a platform for a DJ to perform nightly. That’s Volcano Bay in blue
The pool from on high.
This patio is off to the left of the bar and is an open viewing area of the Universal property.
Time to head out!
Totally cheesy video here that I really hate to even share, but it gives a good idea of the property and features of the Hotel:
Overall, this looks and feels a lot like a deluxe hotel, not unlike the vibe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort . . . but at a price point that starts around $116 per night, that lines right up with the value resorts at Disney, as well as Cabana Bay across the street. This hotel will be very attractive to folks who will enjoy a modern vibe and some higher end food and drink options. It is also walking distance to Volcano Bay, and a shuttle away from the two Universal theme parks.
These photos were shot at a press event, so your mileage may vary, but we really appreciate the value this new resort will offer for the price.
What do you all think? How does it stack up to other value hotels in the area? Is it enough to get you to stay away from WDW on your next Orlando trip? Let us know in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
